A major Disappointment.
When I booked I expected breakfast to be included it was part of the deal - but it was not provided. I rely on wifi - it was supposed to be part of the deal - there was no wifi. Free water was provided on day 1 but never replenished as promised. So I ended up paying for breakfasts, paying for water and foregoing wifi.

Avoid this mess. The property location is OK and amenities are consistent with other hotels but there were many problems. The manager made some attempts to address problems but it felt like he was in over his head.

Great location & value
Terrific hard working staff on a property a few steps from from town center. Rooms are somewhat spartan but impeccably clean. Guest house's 22 year-old manager is exceptional.

Very friendly staff
Very friendly staff! By far, one of the best we met in Lao. However, the bathroom window didn’t close, making it cold at night. The hot shower was also tricky. There was another problem regarding booking a bus through the hotel. The bus to huay xai was advertised as a 12 hour ride, departing at 5pm. When we arrived at the station we met other groups, each thinking the bus was schedule to a different time. It departed at 18:30 and it took almost 15 hours. There was no problem on the road, just poor time estimation.

Spent one night in the hotel. We had the family room (2 double beds) and a large bathroom. The room was fine and a good size. The location of the hotel is great; half a block from the main street. A nice breakfast was provided. The room, however was at the front of the hotel and it opened on to the patio where breakfast is served. So you open the door to other guests eating, both parties were shocked as we emerged in the morning. Because of the room you cannot open the curtains (unless you don't care about any privacy at all). All in all, it was a decent hotel for the one night we were there.

The Best Location
It’s great to see something, pop back to the guesthouse for a coffee and then out again an hour later to see something else and at this place you can do that. Room was clean and pleasant enough, but I didn’t have a view of anything so kept the shutters closed all the time which wasn’t idea. Still, if you’re here to see as much as possible and get your head down in the evening, then this might be for you.

Good guest house with excellent service in a good
The best part of our stay at this guest house was the young manager, Krung (not sure how to spell his name.). What a delightful and helpful gentleman. He went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. The location is great. The made to order breakfasts were good. When you would come back from a day of sightseeing they would bring you a fresh fruit drink. The rooms are big and relatively comfortable if not a bit dark as there are no Windows to the outside. If you are a light sleeper you may have a bit of trouble as it can be a bit noisy as the sound proofing is all but non existent. All in all we really enjoyed our stay here and recommend the manager, Krung, get a big raise.

Great service & location, a little noisy
Service was brilliant, couldn't fault their willingness to help. We received fresh fruit juice on arrival and each afternoon. The rooms were beautiful, all old dark wood, and it's a great location. Unfortunately, the layout of the guest house is a little odd. The only window looked out onto the corridor which meant we had no natural light. Also, there was no lobby or communal area, which meant other guests sometimes socialised in the corridors, making it quite noisy at times. The shower occasionally struggled to get hot, but the bathroom was clean.

Convenient location with excellent staff!
We spent 3 nights at Villa Oudomlith in Oct 2017. We had our room on the first floor close to the reception. Something to be aware that the room has a window but you can not open the curtain because the window is facing to the hallway. It appears to be that this is a typical architectural style in Luang Prabang. It was not a big deal to us as we were busy touring in daytime. The room is clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the outdoor patio facing to the street where we had breakfast every morning where you will see local people's daily lives. Quan, the facility manage is a friendly and hard working guy! He always talked us to ensure we were taken cared and our needs being met. He helped welcome us checking-in, serving break fast, arranging day tour, taking laundry arrangement, arranging tuk-tuk then negotiated pricing for us and on and on, basically he went to the extra miles by providing proactive services. To us, his hospitality was one of the highlights in trip :) The hotel is located off from the main street and in fact I really liked the location. We found a cozy restaurant run by a super nice lady just kitty corner from the hotel. KhaoSoy noodle bowl was so delicious! We saw many locals also eating there so it must be popular and authentic. I highly recommend go and eat there while you are staying this hotel. We surely enjoyed our stay at Villa Oudomlith and highly recommend it to someone who is looking for a economical hotel with great hospitality!

Very nice guesthouse
This no frills guesthouse is staffed by one of the hardest working young men in Laos. Cuong not only served us a lovely breakfast each morning, he also arranged tours, recommended great places for dinner, and made us feel like "one of the family." The Villa Ou Dom Lith was a comfortable place to call home for a few days. (The guesthouse is next door to Big Brother Mouse--a drop-in center where local children and adults can practice conversational English with volunteers whose first language is English.)

A lovely stay superbly managed
Clean and comfortable rooms, convenient to the town's bars and restaurants yet in a quiet side street. Most of all, there's an absolutely brilliant couple of guys running the place. They are so friendly and eager to please, arranging taxis or trips, and provide cool drinks completely gratis when returning from days out. They love learning from travellers and appreciate conversation as they are learning both English and Lao as they are of Vietnam originally. Your happiness is their objective during your stay - what else could you ask for? For English speakers, do visit Big Brother Mouse (right next door to the Oudomlith), where you can drop in and speak with several Laotians who are eager to learn English - very, very rewarding.

Awesome location, right on the heart of Luang Prabang. The young guy who greeted us on our first day was omnipresent. He was our reception, luggage boy, waiter, guide, information centre attendant, he delivered fresh juice every day after we came back from our day trip. He took our breakfast order. Even though he had a lot on his shoulders, he was quick on his feet. Very happy to stay with the place. Highly recommend this villa to anyone. Trust you'll be very satisfied with their service.

Charming small villa
We stayed three nights at VILLA OUDOMLITH in Luang Prabang and would recommend this quaint little villa. The staff - Cuong & his friend do a great job, always willing to help. With a smile on their face They organise everything from cooking, cleaning & booking tours. Although the villa is old it has a unique cosy feel with only 10 rooms. Breakfast is simple but good. The location is fantastic, in a street just down from the main road where a wide variety of restaurants & shops await the senses. 3Nagas restaurant & French bakery worth visiting. The monks walking at sunrise is a must to see. Also waterfall
