Peaceful Cabin in the Woods
The cabin is a wonderful forest retreat from the grind of life. Everything was as described. We loved relaxing on the front porch with a cup of coffee and the deer and squirrels to keep us company. It was nice to disconnect from the world for a bit. The location gives the feeling of isolated but still close to civilization. The details of the cabin were really lovely. I can tell the owners love and care about this place.

Great Cabin, close to NP, not the location for us.
First of all, I just want to say that the location of this cabin is great in the sense that it is located very close to Luray and Shenandoah National Park. The cabin itself is very cute, homey, welcoming. It just wasn’t the location for us- and that is no fault of the host. The location is much more secluded than we expected, you have to travel down multiple secluded dirt roads to get there. There is no cell service and the WiFi did not work for us. The hosts did have a landline in case of emergencies. They left multiple movies, had satellite TV, board games, etc.

Great stay!
The place was great. There was no shortage of towels or firewood. My wife and I spent most of our time between the hot tub and fire pit so that was necessary. The furniture was comfortable, which is surprising for me as the last 2 cabins I stayed in seemed to have very worn furniture. We enjoyed hanging out on the wrap-around deck watching the birds pluck insects out of the sky. The dogs really enjoyed watching it too. I would suggest replacing the hot tub cover with a hard shell because the replacement cover was coming apart every time you removed it to get in. Most importantly, it was clean and a net was available to remove anything from the tub that had fallen in. The shower needs to be replaced as cracks can be seen on the inside. The outside is showing some wood rot from the water damage. It would be a good idea to have that done sooner than later. Besides those 2 things, the cabin offered everything we expected and owner really goes out of her way to make sure it's as stress-free a stay as possible. We really appreciate that!

TERRIBLE STAY
IT WAS A TERRIBLE STAY IT WAS A VERY DIRTY CABIN IT NEEDS A LOT OF CLEANING . THE BEDDINS SMELLED LIKE SWEAT. AND THEY SHOULD UPDATE THERE PICTURES. WE ALONLY STAYED HALF ARE TIME .

Birthday weekend getaway
My wife and I spend a relaxing weekend at this cabin. Beautiful clean and spacious. We enjoyed spending lots of time in the hot tub watching the wildlife. We will absolutely be back!!

What a beautiful place!
This lodge is beautiful! My now husband and I had our wedding here on May 10th, 2024. It's secluded, nice views of the mountains and quiet to enjoy nature. The owners are wonderful and very responsive with any questions we had. Highly recommend and we will be planning another trip in the future! 🙂

Perfect location to access all of the Shenandoah NP trails
We stayed three nights in this perfectly appointed cabin near Shenandoah NP. The kitchen was well equipped, the cabin was lovely, located in a beautiful location. We built a nightly fire outside and used the hot tub. There was also a jet tub in the house which we ran out of time to use. The owner was very responsive and friendly. During our first week of a three week vacation, my husband said staying in this cabin was his favorite part.

DIRTY AND WORN OUT
We have rented more than a dozen properties over the past several years and have never had an issue… until now. This property is the perfect example of a rental “bait and switch”. The pictures on VRBO are VERY deceiving, as upon arrival we were greeted with broken, stained, and worn out furniture both inside and on the porch. There were black blobs in the sink which we were afraid to fully investigate and which led us to believe the house hadn’t been cleaned. Other parts of the cabin were also dirty and we were so grossed out we were too afraid to sleep in the bed. We left within half an hour of arrival. The owner failed to provide us the code to get in prior to arrival and we had to text and call in an effort to get that. AFTER check in we were told there is no ice maker, to please ignore all the stink bugs, and that any guests (including a couple we hoped to have to the cabin for Christmas dinner) would be an extra charge. Upon texting the owner letting her know we were leaving due to the property being unsatisfactory, she said she wished we would have called and she would have rectified the issues. Well, unless she planned to change out old furniture, steam clean the numerous stained cushions, re-cane chairs and clean the place from top to bottom then there was no hope. It should also be noted that the cabin overlooks a family cemetery and a dilapidated house. VRBO contacted the owner to work out a refund. She did not respond. A terrible experience.

Secluded, warm and inviting cabin
Just what we were looking for: secluded peaceful property, spotless cabin with thoughtful touches throughout, all the amenities we needed, comfy sofas and beds, strong wifi, sparkling clean jet tub in main bathroom, excellently maintained hot tub with mountain views. Hosts were so great in communicating. Grocery store about 15 min away. Perfect combo of comfy, charming and up-to-date. Did I mention how clean it was? :) A gentle escape into nature. We'll be back!

A great weekend away
The cabin was a perfect way to spend a relaxing fall weekend away! The amenities were incredible and the location could not be better. Although a little challenging, we were able to get up to the house with our little car! Everything was clean and ready to go on time. Definitely recommend for a weekend away! Just make sure you get the code for access before you get there otherwise you might have a little wait.

Great get away!
The cabin was perfect for our stay! Private, secluded, and comfortable. It was great to run our day trips and then come back to this cozy cabin! The hot tub was perfect after our hikes! The cabin had everything we needed. It was great sitting on the quiet porch having coffee in the mornings, relaxing in the evening while grilling dinner or walk the lane through the woods. We saw deer in the clearing beside the cabin each day. Thank you to Lynette and David for this lovely cabin they share. We can't wait to return again.

Peace and quiet 😊
Great stay and place if you are looking to get away and reset. My husband and I like to hike and Old Rag is a must do. Luray is just a few minutes away with a nice downtown or if you just need a few groceries, Stanley is maybe 10 minutes from the cabin. We would definitely stay here again😊

We would definitely stay again! Place is as pictured, clean, fully stocked. Hot tub is a great plus with plenty of space to play games, unwind, star gaze and enjoy s'mores around the fire. And the hosts are lovely. We have a great Labor Day getaway.

Off the Grid Oasis
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The road leading to the home may be challenging for low clearance vehicles as it is a worn gravel hilly tight turn drive. The home is located in the woods causing poor cell service and very limited wifi connection. However, it was just what our family wanted when looking to reset from everyday busy life. We enjoyed the little touches throughout the cabin, the access to a fireplace, fire pit, hot tub, stargazing, and the baby gates and highchair for our little kiddo. We were able to relax and enjoy the small things. We did have a Maintenace issue. We contacted the host and they immediately worked to correct the issue at early morning hours. This host family was very kind and dedicated to their guest. I highly recommend this location for future guests.
