Riverfront Cabin! Fireplaces, Kayaks & Hobby Farm

Over 600 5-star reviews! Visit to our mountain oasis for a recharge! Acres of riverfront and gorgeous views, right from the porch! Use our water equipment and private river access in the spring, summer, or fall. Cozy up next to the authentic, stone, wood-burning fireplace in the winter. An easy drive to the Luray Caverns, Shenandoah National Park, George Washington National Forest, Massanutten or Bryce Resorts for skiing, and much more. Fresh farm eggs and firewood sold on site. This year-round cabin is your next vacation!

We have three unique cabins named after famous pioneers: Daniel Boone, Buffalo Bill, and Bass Reeves. Our Annie Oakley pier is great for launching kayaks or canoes or just fishing and hanging out. Walk our Lewis and Clark trail to enjoy wildlife and river views. Let the little ones wade into the river and splash around at Pocahontas Point.

Our Buffalo Bill cabin is perfect for two families or a large group of friends. This historic, nineteenth century, pioneer style cabin features hand hewn logs, paintings from the original owner, country kitchen, and personal touches. The cabin was lovingly relocated and nestled on 16 acres in an idyllic setting along the bank of the Shenandoah River. Enjoy morning coffee on the large front porch while you watch the beauty of the mountains and river unfold. Spend the day canoeing, kayaking, tubing, or fishing right outside the cabin and the evening catching fireflies, roasting marshmallows over a campfire, grilling, playing board games, or sipping spirits by the river. Enjoy one of TWO wood burning fireplaces (one in the living room and another in the master bedroom).

**Fireplace Closed April 1 to October 31**

Riverfront Pioneer Cabins, LLC is a licensed rental. Nightly rate includes state and county lodging taxes.

FIRM NO PETS POLICY (non-negotiable due to liability reasons; please do not ask for an exception). Animal lovers welcome, however! We do have other pets on the property...dogs, cats, chickens, and a variety of forest creatures.

On site is a mile long trail that loops around the property. You have access to plenty of water equipment: tubes, kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes...enough water equipment for all guests to enjoy. We have plenty of adult life vests as well and four youth vests. You can access the river directly from our pier. There is a firepit next to the cabin and one down by the pier next to the river.

The cabin is minutes from the Shenandoah National Park and George Washington National Forest hiking trails. About a ten minute drive away are shops perfect for antiquing, the Luray Caverns, an adorable movie theater, restaurants, zip lining adventure, animal rescue zoo, distillery, golf course, brewery, vineyard, and the Luray Caverns. We are also within an easy and scenic drive to area wineries and Massanutten and Bryce ski resorts. See our Guidebook for more places to visit!

While we hope you spend most of your time outdoors, we do have a TV, WiFi, DVDs, Roku, and board games. Lots of toys/games for children; perfect detox for them to unplug!

**Please note that due to our location, our WiFi service is limited. It is spotty...works great some days and horrible other days. We are at the mercy of the one area provider.

We live on the property in the barnhouse. We are available via app messaging, which is the best way to reach us. You might see us around the property during your stay. We love interacting with guests but also respect your privacy.

We are on 16 acres and surrounded by farmland and the Shenandoah River, nestled neatly between the Blue Ridge and Massanutten mountains. There are three cabins on site but plenty of privacy and room to roam and explore. Each cabin has their own fire pit and gas grill.

Great value for unique rural riverfront experience
Photos and descriptions are very accurate.. The set up is such that you have privacy yet plenty of open space in the meadow. The river amenities, kayaks and canoes are a huge added value. Great place for a family retreat.

UnPlug to Disconnect
I took my boys (6&3) for a few days on the river to unplug from the hectic world and connect just the three of us. We enjoyed the nature walk, the boat landing just up the river, canoe trips and fishing. My boys were so tired from all the fun they had; bedtime was over before their stories were! I can't wait to do the trip with them again!

River fun
This property not only has a great location on the river with some deeper water, but the kayak/rafts/paddle boards to enjoy. Home was great with wonderful patio and enjoyed cooking right on the fire. Only note, need to be able to lug kayak/paddle boards. Nature was great (otters/fish/beaver?)

Perfect Family Getaway
Our extended family of six loved our stay at the Buffalo Bill cabin. The cabin was wonderfully cozy and the location absolutely perfect for visiting Luray Caverns and Skyline Drive. Jennifer and Ian were fantastic hosts. We're already thinking about coming back in the summer!

Veteran Weekend
My company had a terrific weekend entertaining some wounded veterans from Freedom hunters. The management of this property is terrific and extremely easy to work with. I look forward to many more veteran outings using their location for lodging.
