About this property

Luxury Lakeside Yurt on Farm with Scottish Highland Cattle

Charming rustic yurt with views of HaHas lake & Kimberley ski hill on a Scottish Highland cattle farm, just over 20 minutes from Kimberley BC.

This yurt is fully equipped with its own kitchen & bathroom. Experience off grid living with the luxuries of solar power, hot water & a flushing toilet.

Enjoy watching our friendly Highland cows graze from the yurt deck & gaze up at the stars through the skylight at night.

Sustainability is important to us. Our yurt is made in Canada using a natural cotton fabric & wool insulation. The floor is renewable cork. The queen sized bed has a natural wool mattress & organic linens. Much of the wood used in construction is milled from our property and treated with eco-wood treatment.

A comfortable cot can be provided for a child or third person for an additional $30 fee.

The yurt is equipped with a kitchen containing a fridge, sink, two burner propane stove & kitchen utensils, French coffee press, kettle, pots and a pan.

Storage is available in the pantry/ cupboard, as well as the bedside tables & drawers under the bed.

The bathroom has a flushable composting toilet, hot shower, sink & heated towel rack.

In winter the yurt is heated by a wood furnace & the bathroom & entry area have propane heat.

The yurt has a large deck overlooking HaHas Lake & Kimberley ski hill, with outdoor furniture and a hammock. There is also an outdoor fire pit. Firewood is provided.

There is no Wifi in the yurt to encourage you to disconnect & immerse in nature. There is cell reception, but usually only a couple of bars, so the internet can be slow.

Unfortunately we cannot accept pets due to the fabric of the yurt & soft cork floor, but we do plan to have a pet friendly rental in the future.

We live on the opposite side of the property & also have a permanent tenant who lives in a cabin about 300ft from the yurt.

We are happy to introduce you to our friendly Scottish Highland cows - they love being brushed!!

We are located just over 20 minutes from Kimberley, 15 minutes to Wasa & 35 minutes to Cranbrook.

There are an abundance of outdoor activities in the local area including hiking, biking, kayaking, golfing, fishing, hot springs, ice skating, nordic & downhill skiing/ snowboarding.

We can arrange in-suite massage for an additional fee. Couples massages depend upon therapist availability.

There is also a local company, Kamu Sauna, with a portable sauna that can be brought to the property to rent.
