About this property

L77 Ranch Farmhouse: Privacy and Comfort with Highland Cattle and Mt. Hood View

The Farmhouse:

A True Farm Stay in the Heart of The Little Seven Seven Ranch, Lyle, Washington. Located within the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area.

The Farmhouse was completely remodeled to host Ranch Guests for 2024. The Farmhouse offers modern luxury, privacy and relaxation in the heart of a working grass-fed cattle ranch. Up a private drive and away from public roads, retreat to this spacious, modern, one-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home. Sweeping, ever-changing views of the ranch and Mt. Hood await.

Over 1800 sq feet, yet designed for 2 or 3 adults, the Farmhouse is not just a place to stay; it is a destination.

The fully-appointed kitchen has top-of-the-line appliances, full-sized refrigerator, gas cooktop, induction oven, dishwasher, Smeg coffee maker and electric kettle. You will find coffee and an assortment of locally made snacks in the kitchen. A complimentary bottle of our own Cabernet Sauvignon sets the tone for a great stay.

The spacious living room has a modern gas fireplace with ample seating. Depending on the season, you may have Highland Cattle right outside your window!

Exposed beams and exterior siding are from the ranch's forests and milled at our own sawmill.

Master bedroom with King-Sized bed, bamboo mattresses and sheets. The master bath includes a glass-enclosed shower, cast iron soaking tub and Turkish cotton robes.

3 Guests? The secondary living room sofa can be easily made into a twin-sized bed. Although a door does not separate this room, it is far enough from the central part of the house to allow for privacy. A bathroom with a shower serves the secondary living room.

Full-sized washer and dryer.

Open office space allows for a comfortable place for desk work. Starlink high-speed internet is available throughout the house.

There is plenty of room to hang jackets and store luggage out of your way during your stay.

This home does not have a television.

The expansive deck offers many seating options, a gas fireplace Mt. Hood views. Railings are designed especially for the L77 by a local metal fabricator, Future Folk Supply. (Deck is seasonal, according to weather conditions.)

The L77 uses only Dark Sky Compliant outdoor lighting fixtures.

No Pets: This is a working cattle ranch and cannot accept pets. Please contact Cascade Pet Camp in Parkdale, OR to inquire about nearby pet boarding.

L77 Ranch runs a fold of 350+ Highland Cattle. Cattle can be viewed from the Farmhouse property and from two public roads that traverse the ranch.

Serene Getaway
We had a lovely time at the L77 Ranch! It's not often that a place not only meets the quality of the pictures, but exceeds them. The views were spectacular, the house was beautiful, clean, and well stocked, and Mary was a fantastic host. The steaks were fantastic as well. We had a delicious meal with ingredients sourced from the farm. We can't wait to visit again!

Lovely farm stay - can't wait to come back!
We absolutely loved staying at the farmhouse! It was clearly very intentionally designed and stocked with all the essentials (and more). Generous access to their garden for fresh vegetables and herbs. The property was lovely to roam about and the evening dinner/wine views were incredible. We look forward to staying again in the future!

Peaceful Escape
My husband and I stayed on the ranch for a long weekend. We loved the space and felt very comfortable. The hosts thought of everything we could possibly need and want. We enjoyed exploring nearby White Salmon and Hood River. We also loved walking around the property and cooking breakfast made from vegetables in the garden and eggs from property chickens. The hosts were excellent at communicating and very thoughtful and generous. We both agreed that this was one of our all time favorite VRBO stays, and we will definitely be back.

Excellent getaway!
We had a lovely weekend at the L77 Farmhouse. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space with spectacular views of Mt. Hood. The house itself was very clean and is equipped with modern amenities. We made some excellent meals in the kitchen with ingredients from Mary's garden. Overall great experience - can't wait to go back!

Wonderful Retreat
The L77 Farm Ranch house is a peaceful retreat away from the city. Perfect for a weekend to reconnect with your partner; we celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary! Professional kitchen is well stocked for cooking a fabulous dinner with a glass of L77 cab. We procured garlic and herbs from the greenhouse on site and Heritage strip steaks from Mary - the best beef ever! After dinner, spend time on the deck by the fire and under the most incredible stars. Wake up in the morning and have coffee with a wonderful guest - Mt. Hood!!! The views are incredible!! Hard to leave such a wonderful retreat.

Peaceful + Perfect
My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Farmhouse, and it far exceeded our expectations. The farmhouse itself is stunning. The design/details are all considered - all of the furnishing and finishes are high end. It's the first time we've actually enjoyed cooking while on vacation - and it was because the cookwear + the stove and the setting were all so beautiful. The fridge was well stocked and the snacks provided were incredibly thoughtful. The farm/property itself couldn't be more peaceful. We honestly felt like we had the entire property to ourselves and enjoyed taking long walks/the beautiful views. We were able to pick fresh green beans + garlic from the garden to add to one of the dinners we made. We enjoyed fresh farm eggs with our breakfasts. I could go on and on ... honestly, one of the nicest places we've stayed in quite some time. Very hard to leave!

Best vacation rental ever!
I do a lot of traveling and staying in vacation rentals and the Ranch Farmhouse is certainly one of the best! The location is amazing! The views are breathtaking! The house is spectacular! I really can't say enough about this rental. Mary was a great host, the amenities and welcome gifts were over the top. Some of my favorite wineries are just down the road... Oh I could go on and on. You will not be disappointed with your stay.

Incredible weekend!
Everything was better than expected at the farmhouse and our ranch stay was perfect! It was hard to leave today.. I’m already planning a return stay! The home was so spacious and well designed with everything you need to unwind! We loved our ranch tour to the farm store yesterday and the walking we did thru the ranch every morning to see the garden, vistas of the mountain and the adorable cattle. Sitting in the deck watching the sun set and the mountain glow pink made me wish I had brought my paints. Thank you Mary and John for your hospitality and sharing your ranch with us. We feel lucky to have found you and had the opportunity to meet you and stay at your beautiful farmhouse! Coming home with a hide to throw over my couch and some highland cattle beef, and L77 wine to give as gifts! If you visit make sure to make an appointment to visit the ranch shop! Go to COR and Domain Pouillon wineries, confluence cafe for delicious food and coffee and don’t miss frenches in Lyle for great homemade icecream!

Best VRBO ever!!
Amazing! Gorgeous! Stunning! Thesaurus! My beautiful wife & I needed a long weekend away, to ourselves, to recharge, rekindle, remember, & restore. Mary & John's place up the hill from Lyle, WA, replete with phenomenal views of Mt Hood, highland cattle, birds, deer, & chickens (yes, I know chickens are birds) was exactly what the doctor ordered (I'm a doctor so I should know, right?). PHEE-nominal!! My only regret was our departure. The house is a showcase & so well appointed. Appliances are top-of-the-line but there's also an understated luxury you can't help but appreciate. If you get the chance to meet Mary you'll understand it flows from her & is just how things should be. Nice towels, slippers, robes, pictures, pillows, blankets. A place for everything & everything in its place ... but with such style & grace. The house is renovated & built for 2, which is important to understand. It's primarily a couple's retreat. There are windows with views to the South (Mt Hood) & East (cattle). The floors are great, the counters fantastic. The cabinetry is wonderful. Why would they VRBO this place & live anywhere else? The hardware, lights, sliding glass doors, fireplace (inside & out), the finish on the walls, wrap-around deck, the birds & trees, & places to sit & enjoy a book or a view or a pillow or a blanket or each other ... just WOW! My wife is SO in love with me again & I didn't even try... Well, I did find this place, didn't I? Hey, why am I limited to 1.5k characters?

Quiet getaway in a beautiful house and setting.
We came to the Gorge planning to hike the public trails, but this house and setting are so beautiful and unique that we spent most of our time at the house and on the deck. There was a little rain and we drove five minutes to Confluence Cafe and had great coffee and views right on the Columbia River. Super easy, amazingly clean. Highly recommend!
