Hotel was selected because of its location for work trip. Breakfast was included as an amenity, starting 6 am. I went downstairs shortly after 6 am, and none of the warm or cooked items were ready. I waited until 6:30 and then left for work without breakfast. The room smelled musty. The lights were controlled by room entrance, which was quite bright, so when you turned the switch off, lamps didn’t work. Toilet bowl had the rust streaks. Polite staff and good location are the positive things to say about this property.

Overall, the staff and property location were great. We were dropping off our granddaughter to UW so Walmart and Kohls were very close for supplies. The location of our room was convenient if not the view but again we were not vacationing. The breakfast was adequate and UW a mere 8 minutes away. The major issue was the old rugs in the hallway and our room. It seemed musty and mildewy making it difficult to sleep. Anyone with mold allergies would probably have gotten sick. We did not request a new room since the condition of the rugs are probably the same throughout the hotel. My granddaughter will graduate in 4 years. If the rugs are replaced by then, I would consider staying again. Also, the prices listed on Expedia were different than what we were charged; however, that is an issue with Expedia. I should have made reservations directly with the hotel and I could then confirm the charges prior to making my reservations.

Very friendly front desk personnel for check in! She offered several restaurants suggestions since we had not been to the area before. Room was nice. Comfortable bed. Bathroom could use a bit of updating as there was some curled up wallpaper around the shower unit and door needed a fresh coat of paint. Would definitely stay again when in the area!

Quiet and well lit. Ease of access to John Nolan Drive for drive downtown or Madison's eastside. But gym was undersized with little equipment and pool smelled of excessive bleach. No wonder patrons weren't even going into the pool area. The front desk staff didn't seem happy cheerful and the morning breakfast lacked variety from what most hotels/motels serve.
