Great House for SNP Vacation
The home was delightful! This older home was beautiful and lovingly cared for. It was well furnished and the kitchen was stocked with all that we needed. I loved the extra touches-blankets throughout the house, snacks, shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispenser and high quality toilet paper. We enjoyed making s’mores at the fire pit and throwing frisbee on the large front lawn. We also enjoyed spending time at the river across the street. Whiteoak Canyon Falls was about 15 minutes away. The hike was worth the trip to see the waterfall. We also discovered a petting zoo about 10 minutes from the house. It is run by Yoder’s Country Market, which is a great place to buy all types of homemade food and lots of other gifts. Laura was extremely helpful and timely in answering my questions. We had a great time at Robinson River Retreat!

Great house in a beautiful country setting
We had a wonderful stay in this well maintained and appointed property. The country setting, proximity to the National Park hiking trails and added bonus of a fire ring and a fantastic river swimming hole made it the perfect property for three teens and me. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

Ok
River was not part of property which was a disappointment. The plug for the TV in one of the room was missing and they never brought us one which they said they would.

Wonderful place to stay
This house was one of the best we have stayed in as a family. The house was as advertised but more well stocked than any other with very thoughtful details that made the stay even more enjoyable. This host did an excellent job of covering all of the important details in communication but also surprising us with kind gestures. The property is beautiful and quiet. It was an easy drive to SNP. We will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

Stayed two nights to take a fly fishing class about 3 miles up the road. Location was very convenient to the class location, fishing, and the National Forest. House was in good shape and comfortable. Easy check in and out process. Would stay there again.

Beautiful Property
We really enjoyed our stay overall. The home was clean and supplied as expected. There were a few small things that prevented me from giving the full five stars. 1. The beds they were okay. We stayed for two weeks and tried out the beds in all three rooms none were great. 2. The fireplace was non functional but specifically listed as a property feature. We stayed for two weeks and there was no plan to fix the fireplace when we asked. 3. Not the owners fault at all but the internet was out for multiple days and with the property being so remote it was a hassle to find somewhere else to work for these days. This also meant we had no cell service and were completely unreachable for multiple days. 3. The small river shown is across a road, not too busy since the property is pretty remote but definitely not part of the main property. Overall for the price we enjoyed our stay in the area but these are things I would have liked to know when I was reading reviews.

Beautiful, accessible property
The pictures and description actually do not do this place justice. It is a truly beautiful home. I also did not expect it to be nearly as spacious as it actually was. Also, we have a child who uses a wheelchair and had no issues accessing the entire first floor. I highly recommend this property!

Loved It!
Stayed a week and it was great. The house is beautiful, clean and comfortable, very inviting. Worked a couple days remotely with no issues. House was well appointed with everything we could need. Beds and bedding were very comfortable. The river was wonderful, directly across the street from the house, there's an area dammed up and gets maybe 7-8 feet deep at spots, we loved swimming in there every moment we could. Location is great, close to parks, caverns and doable drive into DC. Will love to come back!

Excellent place to stay!
Beautiful property and well thought out for a rental, like good spice options and labelled kitchen cupboards. Beautiful scenery and amazing rock at the fire pit. The beds were very comfortable as was the air conditioning in each room (heat index got to 102 while we were there.) Outdoor space was abundant, the grill was clean and plenty of seating. Centrally located to a lot of great things to do. All in all a really great place to stay, especially if you're looking for a home and property with great character and a place that feels like home.

Perfect spot for a getaway!
We had such a great time at Robinson river retreat! The house was perfect! There were snacks for us to enjoy! Well stocked kitchen plenty of yard for our kid to run and play. We made hotdogs and s’mores on the fire pit! The river across the street was so nice and relaxing. Plenty of shallow areas for our daughter to enjoy and some deep spots for us to swim. There was even a rope swing. The only downside was that the listing read as though that spot on the river was going to be our own private area but we were mistaken so it did get pretty crowded on the nice days but all the people were very chill and down to earth so we still had a blast! We will definitely be visiting again! Thanks for your hospitality Nancy!

Had a Blast!
My adult son and grandson stayed in this older 2 story home for several days during the week. It just so happened that a farm/lodge with horses and petting zoo was just a few miles down the road with a family run country store where we got a wonderful lunch. This was the saving grace to our mini getaway! We planned fishing in the river but was more like a creek so not much there. It is across the road with a lot of traffic and bends so extreme caution with children. The house was nicely stocked with everything you need including snacks which my grandson was thrilled. The beds were comfy with nice bedding and plenty of towels in the two full baths with soap and shampoo supplied. There are large tvs in the two spacious bedrooms and living rm. All three bedrooms have ceiling fans. The kitchen is spacious with Keurig type coffee maker with great coffee supplied. The large gas grill is awesome on porch (not closed in but sitting area with dining table.) Nice fire pit with wood provided and was appreciated. Washer/dryer came in handy. I would have given a 5 but didn’t feel the communication was the best. Contacting by phone wasn’t offered and didn’t know how long she accepted emails. I messaged after 10pm on first night but no reply until next morning and got no reply the day we were leaving. With the exception of this is was definitely worth it and everything is s appreciated!

Great property, especially for the price
Everything was as advertised, and in fact the pictures do not do the property justice. Very clean, well-appointed, and a nice property for families, kids, or a friends get away. This is such an underrated part of Virginia, with infinite wineries nearby, Sperryville, Little Washington, and Flint Hill within a quick 20 minute drive, and Charlottesville, UVA, Gordonsville, and Orange not far away. The kids had a great time at the river across the street skipping rocks and climbing in the tree fort. They also loved the fire pit and provided wood on the rocky outcrop in the front yard. We brought our dog and the property was super dog friendly with a pet bowl and towels for the dog provided. One thing to be aware of with the dog is that our goldendoodle figured out quickly that the screen door could be pushed open, and he got out one day and went for a long walkabout (ignoring our calls for him to return). This is no issue as it just meant we had to close the regular door once we knew, but if you bring your dog, make sure everyone knows to close the main door. Great house, especially for the money. Thanks to the owners for sharing their home, and keeping it so well appointed for visitors.
