Very good breakfast buffet. Eggs made to order and multiple options to eat. Very happy with it. Cold a/c. Clean room and hotel. Said VIP hotel perks, like room upgrade (when available) and daily gift card. When asked about this upon check in they had no clue. Great staff at the breakfast buffet and the downstairs bar/ restaurant. The spa staff was wonderful. Both my wife and I enjoyed massages. My wife also got the facial. She was very pleased. The massage was one of the best I’ve had.

This is a very large hotel (and chain). The hotel generally quiet and the location is great. But the lack of a decent coffee in the room and poor wifi in the room are not Ok in this day and age. We stayed in other hotels thru Portugal and Spain, the Barcelo failed in these regards. The split elevator is also kind of a hassle. I understand that the hotel shares the building with other uses but it is inconvenient.

The property is located directly across from subway stop plaza de Espana. Views from balcony room facing Gran Via are awesome. Staff was warm and welcoming. Breakfast had a very good assortment. Fresh made eggs as you wait to your request. Rooms cleaned daily.

We only stayed one night, for a connection. From the start service was fantastic and welcoming. Check-in was on the second floor - overlooking the city square. It was quick, the room was modern and spacious with a nice city view of the square. Central to restaurants and shopping. Perfect hotel for a quick trip. Metro was about a one minute walk. Uber to the airport about 25 minutes cost 23-33 US.

Very nice property we received an upgrade upon arrival. This was nice, staff was helpful, the only observation that could be worked on is that the room closed to the elevator will always have to endure the noises that made the elevator going up and down. Not a showstopper but a bit annoying when sleeping at night. Overall a very good place to stay at Plaza Espana.

Great hotel, location is perfect to walking around, metro station within a few minutes as are local coffee shops and restaurants along with many great bars close by. Staff were excellent and helpful. Breakfast has a wide choice of options, the hotel is clean, rooms are clean and modern.
