dont stay in 901 (or any of the *01 rms)
the hotel location was excellent but i will warn anyone booking avoid rm 901! right next door to both the elevator shaft and the gym... which is unlocked even though they say access is after 10am... one of the roughest nights ive had travelling in years...

All the staff are very good & helpful. Especially victor who works in the Ópera cafe who looked after me & my friend on our stay. Good choice of food in the breakfast lounge. Hopefully be back next year for my 3rd stay at this great location hotel. Kind regards Lee.

One of the people working at the front desk was not very friendly. Arriving at the hotel there were 5 of us, one more child who initially would not participate in the trip. That was the reason why the man made it a problem for us to check in, even though it was not a problem he kept telling us that he was doing us a favor to accept one more in the room. I found it very uncomfortable, there were beds in the room and the lady at the front desk the next day told us that it was not a problem. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

We spent a four nights in Madrid at hotel Opera. The staff were friendly and it is location is ideal for seeing the sights and going for a meal. Breakfast was good, and the rooms were a good standard. I would gladly recommend this hotel!

Spent four great days at hotel opera. It’s a great place to base a stay in Madrid! Staff are friendly, breakfast was good and we also enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant.

There was very little natural light in the room. We were on the top floor and had just 3 very small windows you could barely see out. The air con didn't work and the room was never cool. There were no coffee making facilities in the room which would have been nice. The hotel was very overpriced for the room we were given. Not worth the rating it has. Disappointed
