We have a full set of pot and pans, dishes, silverware and many other accessories to make cooking a breeze. There is a water filter at the kitchen faucet, providing safe water for drinking and cooking.
The pool is in the center of the house and is open to the sky. It is about 6 feet deep and features a large stairway for easy entry. A private and refreshing pool is a must-have amenity while visiting the hot city of Granada. Please note, there is no fence around the pool and other than the stairs, there is no shallow area. Pool towels and beach balls are provided.

A spiral staircase leads to the covered balcony with amazing views of Mombacho volcano and the iconic Granada Cathedral of Parque Central, while being cooled by the breeze above the rooftops.
Laundry is available- washing only, hang to dry.
The large size of Tesoro Dorado allows for families to spread out in different areas, or to come together in the dining and living rooms. The colonial style of open area in the center allows the home to be bright and airy. Because of this open aspect of colonial homes, please note that it is impossible to keep all dust, noise and bugs out of the house.
Granada is a beautiful city, full of life and character. Tesoro Dorado is in an excellent location, just two and a half blocks from the exciting nightlife of the Calle La Calzada, and one block from the historic Convento San Francisco Museum.. Many popular restaurants are less than a five minute walk, including Kathy´s Waffle House, The Garden Cafe, Pita Pita, Pan de Vida and Cafe de Arte.
Also within walking distance are Parque Central and the beautiful Granada Cathedral. One can hire a horse-drawn cab for a tour around town or climb the historic Cathedral to see a 360 degree view of the area. You can stroll down the recently upgraded Calle La Calzada all the way to Lake Nicaragua and walk along the beach-front Malecon. There are many restaurants, bars, coffee shops and street vendors along the way.
Many attractions are within a short taxi ride ( we can provide contact info for reliable drivers). Laguna de Apoyo is a thermally heated crater lake and is only a few kilometers away from Granada. Lake Nicaragua has many small islands and one can tour the Isletas by boat or kayak. Mombacho volcano is a 8 km car ride out of Granada and offers a drive up the mountain in a big repurposed military truck and then guided tours. From the top of Mombacho you can see the entire area of Granada, including the Laguna, the Isletas and the largest lake in Central America (Lake Nicaragua, aka Colcibolca). We are happy to provide assistance arranging transportation and contact information for tours. Please let us know if you require transportation to the airport or other towns in Nicaragua and we can help to arrange that.
Granada is a beautiful and welcoming city, but it is not a quiet one! There are many celebrations, parades and festivals, often marked by the letting off of bombas (firecrackers) and of marching bands walking through town!Light sleepers may want to consider bringing ear plugs, especially during Christmas and Semana Santa (March 24-30, 2024).

The pool is 6 feet deep and has no fence around. Please do not use glass dishes around the pool. The pool is surrounded by tile. Please note that tile can become slippery when wet. Please exit the pool only to the non-slip surfaces provided, and use the mop to dry the tile.
Electricity is quite expensive in Nicaragua and so we ask that air conditioning units and fans be turned off when not in use and prior to check out.
