I was quite impressed with the cleanliness, quality, amenities, and phenomenal staff. I have to say, it was not what I expected. I will also say that when we arrived, seeing the back of the hotel to what one would assume would be the front entrance, fed into my low expectations, until the uber backed up and went around to the front entrance. The only thing that could improve greatly is their wifi speed, it was extremely slow.

If you are not driving then there is really nothing in the immediate area -- not even a proper coffee shop. On my overnight stay I was plagued by children using the corridor outside my door as a playground and what might have been a clumsy water buffalo on the floor above. I should add that although the property advertises itself at an "airport" lodging it is a £10 taxi ride to/from terminal 2 -- no shuttle bus is offered as some other hotels in the area traditionally did.

Location information not clear.
I was under the impression that this hotel wasa 10 min wallk to T2 at Airport manchester. This could not have been further from the truth - actually 45mins! We ended up getting a taxi and required a further taxi the next morning. Not only did the taxi driver say he regularly has customers with rhe same impression but also Holiday Inn Reception staff. I was not happy but had to park it as I was going on holiday - not a good start.

Our double room had only 1 towel. The bedside lamps didn't work and couldn't be fixed (they did offer us another room). Food was mediocre and there isn't another restaurant in walking distance. No shuttle to airport. Staff was nice.

Building is a little tired and in need of updates and sprucing. But staff was excellent!! Clean, and plenty of hot water. Appreciated the help with taxi to airport
