Recption were helpful and whilst we were early and dropping bags off our room was ready and we were able to check Great location not far from one world, brooklyn bridge and river.
This could be a great hotel. The location in Fidi is excellent. It is very clean. They upgraded me to a king room, which was great.
The issues:
1) there is a $30 per night amenity fee. This covers wifi, 2 bottles of water, and coffee. It basically amounts to $15 for each bottle of water. I did not get coffee as it is not in a convenient place such as the lobby or in the room. It is on another floor. The whole amenity fee thing feels like a scam. Not all hotels charge this. I don’t understand why hotels do this. The very first interaction that the guest has with the hotel feels like a scam. It makes you think you are stuck with it this time but will stay somewhere else in the future. Why not just advertise the real price per night instead of tacking on bogus fees?
2) my room was on the eighth floor. I got in late after traveling all day. I went to take a shower but couldn’t get the shower door to open. The door had a clear plastic skirt/caulking on the bottom. That was making the door difficult to open. It probably took 15 minutes to get the shower door to open. Once I got the shower door opened and turned on the shower I saw why they installed the crazy caulking at the bottom of the door. Water from the shower sprays all over the floor soaking the bath mat. There must be a better way to configure the shower. I have never encountered anything like it.
I travel to ny several times a year. If this hotel would drop the junk fees and fix their shower.
Great property overall that facilitated an enjoyable stay. The staff was great, I liked the decor/tone of my room, and I found the location to be ideal as it was very close to a few key subway stations.
I had a good experience and would definitely consider staying here again when I eventually return to the city.
One day ahead of our arrival, the property followed up with to make sure that we understand their policies and double checked with us for special requests. When we got to the property with our luggages, front desk went out of her way to help us out. Very happy with our stay.
Close to three train stations, walking distance to the ferry going to Staten Island and Governor's Island.
They provide two water bottles every day, and an umbrella for use which is very handy.
Clean facility. Great staff. Will stay here every time we visit New York.
The location is excellent and very close to the metro. Room is good to me. However, there was an issue with my check-in as they mistakenly checked someone else in under my name. The front desk staff kept us waiting for about 30 minutes while they figured out the mistake, and there was no apology at all. So unprofessional.
