We enjoyed ourselves our stay! It was as central to places we wanted to see in Manistique and Munising. Thank you so much!

Cozy and Quiet
The home was a bit on the smaller side for our family but we enjoyed the deck, Lake, and sightseeing. There are no dressers or closets to put clothes or stash belongings so we felt a little cramped. My oldest did not feel safe sleeping on the top bunk (no railing) so they both slept on the pull out couch. We made it work for the few days we were there. It was centrally located for the places we visited.

Great stay experience
The cottage was clean and it had everything we needed. The laces is beautiful. My children enjoyed it very much. If you’re like me and read all the reviews before renting. Please forget the bad reviews. This place is small but it has everything you need to have a great experience. Would I stay here again? YES! Highly recommended

Things Got Fixed Up
Nice informal cabin on lake. Didn't receive pass code and directions to cabin two days in advance as expected. Furnace isn't work upon arrival but got fixed. Water tastes funny and smells like rotten eggs. Use bottled water. Slats under grandmother's bed fell out on second night. Property manager finally nailed them to the frame. Power went out for seven hours right after the bed was put back together. Could have noted that there would be no bath soap or shampoo in bathroom. Two dogs accompany you when outside. Would recommend not feeding them, unless you want their constant companionship. Cabin seemed sanitized but could include information on this in property information. Could also explain that the landline is useful only for calling the local numbers mentioned in the handbook. Trees around cabin are lovely as is the view of the lake.

Poor
Beds were very uncomfortable. We ended up sleeping in the car. Grill didn’t have propane, someone brought one later that day and it’s still didn’t work. We didn’t even eat. We checked out the very next day. Could not stay there another 2 days. Waste of time and money. Very very unhappy

We had a great time at Crooked Lake!
My husband and two boys (5 and 3) had a great stay at Crooked Lake. The cabin is really nice and fit our family of four well. If you have a larger group, you would have to stay downstairs in the walkout basement. I'm guessing that would be pretty cold in the winter! The TV had a Roku stick and you can login to things like Netflix, Prime, Hulu if you have a subscription which was nice for our kids to wind down before bed. Another amenity not listed is a gas grill. We wish we would've known in advance and we would have brought things to grill. Overall, we loved our stay. The cabin is close to Waterfalls and Munising or if you never want to leave, the cabin is perfect to enjoy the lake and the views!

Exactly what we were looking for
We hoped to find a simple, modern cottage on one of the inland lakes in the center of the U.P. That is just what this cottage turned out to be. We didn't have to camp in the rain and had a beautiful week up north.

Pictures Might Oversell It
Great location, great view. But there wasn't as much room as I would've thought from the photos and ad. 5 men were too many for this cottage. The well water was a bit ripe, but you can get past that. Overall The property and the location were excellent, the pictures really make the rooms seem larger than they are.

Crooked Lake Cottage stay Jan 2018
The cabin was large enough for four of us to stay. The original ad said it would sleep 6-8. The 5th thru 8 people would have to sleep in an unfinished basement on hideaway beds. The main draw back was the water smell. I believe a new well needs to be drilled or a good water filtration system needs to be installed. The view was great, right on the lake and very-very quiet. We were close enough to the snowmobile trails that we were looking for.

peaceful and quiet. did not like the house water at all
this could be a 5 star GEM with a little update. the water in the house is AWFUL very bad smell we have stayed in many places with well water nothing smells like this water it stinks. we used bottled water for everything. the bed needs a new mattress very hard,we enjoyed the sunset we had bonfire going every other night my wife and i enjoyed the peaceful and quiet time we had. owner responds to any question within minutes we are not knocking the place down just telling the owner what it needs.

Beautifully Peaceful
We absolutely loved our stay! The lake was gorgeous, secluded, and not overpopulated. Exactly what we were looking for! The cabin was spacious and well stocked with supplies to get us started. It's located about halfway between Manistique and Munising, leaving about a 25 minute drive either way. Perfect! We were able to sit right next to the water and enjoy our campfire. It was such a beautiful and peaceful spot, I wanted to cry when we left. Next year we will stay longer! The only reason I didn't give this property a 5 star rating is because the beds were very firm, a little uncomfortable, and the lack of blinds or shears in the living room left us with a lack of privacy. If someone was sleeping on the futon out there, they'd wake up very early in the morning. We also wished we could have brought our dog as well but this particular property doesn't allow pets. Max the local neighborhood dog comes around a lot and gives free cuddles! He was so cute! We are already trying to plan another stay here next year! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Too much for too little
The rental was about twice as much as it should have been. They have a lawn mower, boat motor, and snowblower stored in the basement which gives the whole cabin a gasoline smell. There was a rank odor coming from under the sink unit so all of the silverware, utensils, and pots and pans had to be washed prior to use and left out on the counter tops. Unless you use paper dishware all of the time, there was not enough dishes. All of the furniture on the deck had to be cleaned to be used. The beds really need mattress covers to soften them up a bit also. Overall, the location was excellent and the cabin was comfortable though.

Stunning setting, easily accessible and close to activities and restaurants and town.
Property was as advertised and more. Beautiful setting and situated close to area activities and towns. Cabin positioned well to capture ambiance of area and viewing of wildlife and lake. Maria was a gracious and accommodating host that provided support and accommodations for our needs. Interior of cabin was clean and well maintained, equipped and comfortable. City of Munising and surrounding area offered local flavor, excellent restaurants and access to the beauty and history of Lake Superior. Recommend the Haywire, 387 and Tanglewood restaurants. Putvin Drug Store is the place to go in Munising for everything! A great experience, with long lasting memories. Highly recommend for couples or families. A loud shout out and props to Maria for her friendliness, attention to detail and high level of customer service during our stay. We will be back!

Very peaceful. We will be back.
There is a beautiful view of the lake. It's a very relaxing place to stay. We were there during the fall for the colors, some near by water falls and to see Pictured Rocks. It is a convenient place to stay to see a lot of the upper peninsula of Michigan. We highly recommend this place.

Clean, quiet and a lake!
This cabin is clean and most quiet! If you're looking to get unplugged from the world this is your stay! Close enough to Munising and Manisique for eateries, sight seeing. The lake has lots of fish in it too and they were delicious! Good for the soul stay! Tim & Karen

Excellent fully furnished house, felt just like being a house guest of a friend.
Property is well kept, clean and fully stocked to support a great vacation week on the lake. My family and I enjoyed the fact that we could launch our boat, dock it at the dock and play on the lake all week. It is a great location and great place for a peaceful get away.
