This is the private condo units that we have been waiting for. Very Mediterranean designed with clean lines and built into the cliff next to an amazing clubhouse. This project contains everything you want and only 10 minutes of Manta.
Land here in and around Manta is the most beautiful on the coast. Whether you are right on the beach or perched above overlooking the Pacific Ocean, it is all here in Manta.
We also have the best weather in all of Ecuador, with Manta being the driest section of the coast. Many that have come here compare it to the San Diego of years ago.
Visitors still find Ecuadorian Coastal Properties at unbelievable prices and are especially low compared to the Southern Coast. Manta is the largest city on the coast with the most modern infrastructure one can expect in a city this size (270,000) in North America. We are also a working city and are the largest tuna exporting city in the world.

We had a great experience at this condo. First of all, it feels incredibly safe which was a big concern of ours with two little kids. There are security guards at the main entrance and again at the entrance to the condo building, and they are super friendly and helpful. They are willing to call for a taxi pickup into town as well, which was great. There is a garage with a reserved spot for parking the car, but we always just parked out front where there was plenty of curb space. The amenities described in Raul's listing are accurate, and they are clean and well-maintained by the several maintenance staff members that you see around the complex.
There are a few different swimming pools which we found out are sometimes closed for a full day for maintenance. The kids loved the playground which was a quick and easy walk from the condo. The condo itself is decorated beautifully and indeed has a large patio with lounge chairs. The kitchen has a microwave, a gas range and a refrigerator. We were able to easily connect our laptop to the WIFI. To our surprise there was even an washer/dryer which was extremely convenient. There is one toilet downstairs and then there are two bathrooms upstairs where the bedrooms are found. We found the stairs to be a little bit steep for our little ones, so we were often escorting them up/down, so this might be useful information for anyone with difficulty in mobility. The condo building itself is equipped with escalators though. Keep in mind that Piedra Larga beach is named because it's a large rock surfaced beach, and not a sandy-bottom beach. During low tide, you can still walk out there, but the rocks are quite slippery and difficult to maneuver. Just south of the condo there is a rock jetty, and on the south side of that jetty, there is a more sandy beach which is better for playing and wading and there is an awesome restaurant (Iguana Bar) there for eating. All of that is walkable during low tide, but over the slippery rock surface that I mentioned before, so you have to wear shoes and time it right. :) We have family that lives in Manta and we already knew our way around town before arriving. San Mateo beach is less crowded and cleaner than Murcielago.
We highly recommend 'Fish Cevicheria' for the best ceviche in Manta. It's so damn good. Overall, we had an excellent experience at Raul's condo. It's a serene location, while still giving you easy access to all the activity that Manta has to offer. Katie
