So much splendor and beauty awaits you at Toledo Bend. Of course, fishing is the number one attraction, and if you decide to leave your boat at home, there are many boat rental businesses and guide services available to take you out on the lake to fish, or you can always wet your line right off the pier! It's true that many come out to fish, but there are so many other activities awaiting you!
If golfing is your thing or if you'd like to try it, bring your clubs and go golfing at nearby Cypress Bend Golf Course, an 18-hole, championship golf course on the Audubon Golf Trail, with breathtaking views of Toledo Bend! Cypress Bend Marina also boasts a beautiful pavilion, boat launch, and a beach for swimming!
Just a few minutes away is the Toledo Town area (just west of the 4-way stop at Hwy 6 and Hwy 191), where you can find groceries, fuel, restaurants, tackle and other fishing supplies, and just up the road into the town of Many, you will find more shopping and dining.
Just 45 minutes away is Natchitoches, Louisiana, the oldest settlement in the Louisiana Purchase, full of history, beauty, heritage and wonderfully unique architecture. Natchitoches shows off every year at its Christmas Festival of Lights, which runs each season from late November to early January, with a fabulous fireworks display every Saturday night. Natchitoches is also home to the oldest general store in the state, Cane River Brewing Company, and Northwestern Louisiana State University (Go Demons!). From the banks of the Cane River, you can also enjoy a riverboat cruise or a tour in a horse drawn carriage.
