The hotel was adorable. However, I booked and was charged for a Family Suite, but we were given a Family Double Room. When I asked about it, I was told Travelocity messed up. I showed him a picture of the posting. He said Travelocity had the wrong descriptions for the rooms. He said this was a continually issue and they could do nothing about it. We were very disappointed as we had splurged for this special Family Suite. We should have at least been given a refund for the difference in the cost of the rooms.
All excellent except having to walk up an 18 step flight of stairs asthe elevator wasn’t working. The bathrooms are very small. Nice courtyard and bar. Good food. Would stay there again.
The John Dean room 223 is near the stair and was noisy at night due to guest traffic. Below it the room has a patio and a fireplace. Guests there also stayed out until about 11 am and were loud because a few people were talking. You can hear their conversation. This could be a problem for rooms 219 to 235.
Bathroom is small and there is no separate stall around the shower. Only a curtain. So water can spray out creating opportunity to slip and fall.
Polite and helpful staff. Great location and ambience.
Having the elevator out was not good. We heard it was going to be another 2 months. Hire a bellhop!
Dinner was very good but a group in the room next to us was so, so loud that we moved outside for dessert. Didn't seem like there was enough staff.
The hotel had a wrdding nooked do we could not dine at the restaurant. It would have been nice to know before driving in from Houston. It was hard to find a restaurant and check in attendant was not helpful and yold us to google restaurants in the area
nice to know that before we dtove all the way from houston as we had a hard time fini
I always wanted to go to Marfa and now I have. It’s a historic hotel and we knew that and it is. The guy at the desk (don’t know his name) is from NOLA and he was very pleasant. If you know what Marfa is and you know this hotel’s history, then it’s exactly what you’d expect.
