Area smells like literal poop. Staff seems disorganized but tries their best. Many fire hazards that I will be following up with including: Severely overdue fire extinguishers, corroded and unmaintained alarms, and overall poor maintenance to safety systems.

Cockroaches in my room

In the middle of the night, I woke up to find cockroaches scattered everywhere during the night. They were on the night stand, in the bathroom, crawling along the bed headboard… It was horrible. I called the front desk and they were able to move me into another room. Needless to say, I didn’t sleep well and wanted to check out asap.

I, as a person that could be classified as disabled, struggled to get to the check in lobby, I was immediately attended to and provided an accessible and secluded room. So the staff was accommodating. Next I found the room to very clean. This facility is adjacent to a freeway but it situated so no highway noise or other disturbances would affect a visitor. Compared with others in the Motel 6 chain, I felt a greater sense of security. Also, the price was extremely affordable, considering its location in a pricy tourist area. It’s a pet friendly facility. There is an adjacent Denny’s restaurant with a convenience and gas station adjacent to the property. For visitors to the Monterey Peninsula, I’d highly recommend it
