This site is a long drive from Door County. We love touring old homes and liked the ideal of spending a night. Stayed in the Plum room in Hotel addition of rooms made to look similar. There is no staff until 8 am. I found an envelope in mailbox with key and instructions. House is very clean except I was the first one down to breakfast and found the table set but linen had coffee stains from previous use. Breakfast was between 8:30 & 10 am. No food options, you get Pan cooked egg squares w/ potato, no meat, little bowl of fruit, small filled pastry & choice of drink. Living area of house had some games, magazines & books for daytime use. After sundown the lighting is just enough to get around. The Plum room has a desk, Futon & very low bed similar to dorm room furniture. There are 3 Large Windows but non of the pleated shades would pull up more than 1/3 & crooked. Room & bath lighting is also subdued. No reading in bed or putting on makeup. Some information would be nice regarding the house history. Over all there are many choices with Full time staff, adequate lighting plus mini frig., microwave & some counter space in bath for less money.
