For us, the location was ideal - away from the popular beaches, tourist shops, etc. Here you are close to The Volcanic National Park and many “gem” locations listed in travel guides. This is Kau coffee country (look up the history of the emergence of Kau coffee and Kona coffee). We enjoyed farm/fruit stands, local markets, and wonderful local places to eat and find local artist creations. The aloha spirit was so welcoming as we talked with locals. "I only stayed one night, but it was perfect. The location is walking distance to the Black Sand beach and the unit we stayed in had a lovely patio with a view of the ocean. Everything was clean and the property was very quiet."
