Showing its age
We stay at this motel at least once a year when travelling along the Mississippi River. Parking is very limited, which we knew about. The trains travel by numerous times a day. Once again, we knew that and I personally like the sound of a train. The problem, our room was FULL of boxelder and lady bugs when we go into our room. We cleaned them up numerous times in our 2 day stay. The motel is starting to show its age. The beds were made sloppily, but were comfortable. The shampoo pump in the shower was so low, nothing would come out. The front desk person in the morning was fantastic. She was friendly and could carry on a conversation easily. Kudos to her.

Perfect location, but short staffed.
Front staff seemed overwhelmed with work and requests from other guests, but she wasn't unfriendly, just appeared to need to get on to her next task of folding laundry. Our tv didn't work and it took several reminders for her to come try to fix it. Eventually it was decided that it was broke. When asked to be put in another room, we were told that they were full. Told her we would go eat and be back in an hour and requested that some other employee could look at it. Upon returning, we were pleasantly surprised that we would be moving to another room. So all worked out. I don't blame the front staff for not being as friendly as she could have been. It appeared that a full hotel was short staffed to meet all the guests needs in a positive way.
