Lovely Cave Hotel Stay in Matera
The room was very nice, although we were a little surprised about the open cistern (partially covered by plexi-glass) in the room. I guess that is what it means to be in a cave hotel! The breakfast was great, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. The room was a little dark, but we were able to open the doors to the outside if we needed more light. Front desk staff was super helpful. Just a comment that there are lots of stairs at this hotel, even if you use the elevator, so people with mobility issues should consider that.

Metera is like going back in town, certainly into Stassi section of the city with dates back thousands of years. The Aquatio Cave Luxury Hotel is built into one of these stassis, a series of caves that are private and cozy with state of the art ammentities. Not what you picture in your mind when you think of caves. The staff were very attentive and helpful, our room was immaculate and unlike anything we've ever seen before. We walked 60 seconds and had one of the best fixed-price meals we've ever enjoyed - plenty of great dining and shopping options nearby. We enjoyed the sauna at the spa, which you should absolutely check out. If you're feeling a little adventurous book a suite at the Aquatio Cave and Luxury Hotel. Amazing luxury and privacy with a historical pedigree second to none. Highly recommended!

The setting and cave room and hotel are unique and amazing. The staff were attentive, helpful amd generous of time and spirit from the receptionist, lead waitress and Dino sommelier. The room exceeded our expectations as did the food which was excellent and plentiful at our half board dinner and also breakfast. Spa was relaxed, nice sauna, steam and pool. All perfect

The hotel and service was top notch which I expected in booking a 5 star hotel. The staff was very helpful. The room was modern and beautiful. However, our stay was dampened a bit as the shower which was not enclosed flooded the entire bathroom in room 101. Upon alerting the staff the bathroom was cleared by the time we came back from dinner. The hotel should take steps to advise guests prior or partially enclose the vestibule to keep the water in.

Our stay was good the front desk staff friendly and very smart. The spa lacked even though we had to book our own time slot, there were 6 other people in the pools at the same time as us, they all had camera and phones, loud, not addressed by staff not a great pool experience and the spa was one of main reasons we chose that hotel

100% would go back if given the chance.
Amazing hotel and staff. We were there for three nights in September and the location is right in the heart of the city. 1-10min walk for all options of food and drinks catering to a variety of dietary restrictions. The staff are extremely helpful in reccomonding parking, restaurants, and calling taxis.

You won’t regret it!
We are so thrilled that we were able to stay here while in Matera. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful. They made reservations for us at the Michelin Star restaurant for the same night as well as booked us for an hour in the spa as well as booked a massage for us (also same day). They also arranged a TukTuk tour for us which was very informative and took us to some of the most picturesque places in Matera. Complimentary breakfast was also quite nice. HIGHLY recommend Aquatico!
