Expedia took my money for the booking but there was no response from the property via messages or telephone and after taking a taxi to get there the place was closed. Need a full refund- how can Expedia still take the money if the property is not operating????

The chalet staff didn't seem very organised and weren't sure if there would be a cook to prepare food for us. The pool wasn't cleaned for use and things were a bit disorganised. The property is pretty remote with nothing nearby

Staff members are kind but the rooms for two people are a bit small and old.

Value for money with great service

Enjoyed our transit/short stay. The host was very kind, helpful, informative and accommodating, even letting us leave our rental car on site while we were doing the safari. Nice setting, enjoyed the food too. we could definitely have stayed longer if we had the time. Highly recommend it.

Good value, friendly staff.

Maun itself is just a springboard for Moremi & is very spread out & charmless. Jump Street Chalets offer affordable accommodation & we would stay there again. They were very helpful in storing our hire car for 4 days, whilst we took a safari, even though we had not booked it through them.

Very good for stopovers

All 3 beds were in one open space which had no privacy. The TV was old and had no remote control. The aircon was a great help in the hot temperature of Maun. All staff were very friendly and willing to assist.

Not as convenient as expected

Posted Dec. 15, 2015 on Expedia
Pros: Taxi ride to the airport was still relatively short (considering other options) and cost only 30 Pula - $3 (one way).
Cons: Hotel staff should be aware of what is important to people who travel. One example is working A/C. They gave us the only room without working A/C!
Location: Not much to do/see in Maun. If you have 2 hours in between flights at Maun airport - you can do your souvenir shopping just in front of the airport.
We stayed there on our way out of Botswana for one night - second half of Nov 2015. Taxi driver had difficulty finding this place - as it is at the end of long, side, dirt road. This place is so secluded that you need a taxi to go anywhere. I guess it is OK to stay there for one night - considering the value - but no more than that. Staff at the lodge was trying to be helpful - but overall was clueless, which was frustrating and giving them more work to do in the end. One example was giving us the room without working A/C (A/C remote missing). Later - when we already went to bed - and it became apparent - that it is too hot to sleep - receptionist gave me A/C pilot from another room. Since A/C in our room was "Samsung" and pilot she brought was "York" brand, it did not work of course. We ended up changing rooms (being the only guests in this lodge at the time). The thought of giving us room with working A/C did not occur to anyone. The other frustrating thing were prices for any food you would order there. They quoted me 160 Pula ($16) for a breakfast (2 eggs, strip of bacon, coffee). Considering the fact that much larger breakfast in the restaurant oriented primarily for tourists - just in front of the Maun airport costs $6 - you get the idea. My impression was - that they try to compensate for reasonable hotel rates with inflated menu prices. Anyways - if you have a choice - do not stay there.

Escape to the Bush in Maun

A Lovely welcome by friendly staff. Location typical of the "bush" - everything we needed but on a slower pace than used to.

Wonderful place and not expensive

We had problems with the rooms but the staff found the appropriate room we needed. Internet connection weak. The chalets are beautiful and the cleaness OK (but only two towels in the Bathroom) We had breakfast and dinner and was excellent and cheap.
