2-bedroom cabin on private mountaintop with amazing views of the valley below

Sweeping views of the valley below while less than 5 miles/ approx 15 minutes from Highway I-77. Newly refreshed with a rustic yet cozy flair, private and secluded. Ideal weekend get-away or extended retreat.

***4WD/AWD Vehicle Highly Recommended***

Welcome to our cozy cabin where you can enjoy stunning views, privacy, and seclusion. There are 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a full kitchen, office, loft, comfy living area and outdoor covered deck. Outside there is a firepit and plenty of parking.

The cabin is in the country yet a quick drive from I-77. It sits in secluded woods surrounded by nature on a small mountaintop. If you want a quiet, private place to think or relax that is still close to wonderful small towns, local vineyards, and historical sites, this is the place for you.

SLEEPING:

The cabin features 2 bedrooms w/ clean and comfy linens:
- Main floor bedroom: King bed, nightstands with reading lamps, blackout shade and a storage/clothing rack.
- Upstairs bedroom: Queen bed, nightstands with reading lamps, Roku TV, blackout shade, small wall-mounted clothes rack.

LIVING SPACE:

Inside, you'll find a cozy open living area on the main level. Admire the views from indoors or catch up on your favorite shows with the 55" Roku TV and fast Starlink internet. There is an electric fireplace to add some ambiance, games, books and puzzles.

One of our guests' favorite spots is the covered deck - the perfect spot to sip coffee or enjoy a glass of wine while admiring the valley below. Watch the sunrise from the rocking chairs out front or relax in the seating area on the side deck as the sun sets. The deck wraps around two sides of the cabin and also has a gate at the entrance to keep your furry friends contained.

The cabin offers a full kitchen with all the essentials, including an electric range, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker, dishes, glassware, pots and pans, and utensils. We also provide basic seasonings, cooking oil, enough coffee for your first few pots, coffee creamer, sugar, and sweetener. The dining table seats 4 and there are an additional 2 seats at the kitchen counter.

Upstairs is an open loft space with a sitting area at a picture window that looks out over the mountain valley. The second bedroom is located upstairs as well as an office with a door for privacy, desk and comfy couch.

The full bath is on the main level and has a tub/shower combination. Pack light - we supply the essentials - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, toilet paper and towels.

The cabin is supplied with well water, which has a different mineral content compared to city water. We recommend bringing along some bottled water. There is a water filtering system for the cabin that removes some mineral content, and a reverse osmosis filtered water faucet at the kitchen sink.

OUTSIDE:

In addition to the outdoor covered deck, you'll find Adirondack chairs arranged around a fire pit in the back yard. Bring along a bundle of firewood and relax around the campfire. There is also a charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal) and a picnic table.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

4WD/AWD HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Please note that the driveway to the cabin is gravel and at an incline, and 4WD/AWD is highly recommended. Please reference reviews from past guests. Two-wheel-drive vehicles and SUVs may not be able to ascend the driveway due to the grade. We recommend arriving before sunset, not only to witness the stunning sunset but also because the road to the cabin is winding and not lit by streetlights.

HEATING/AC: You can enjoy year-round comfort with central heat and air conditioning, and during cooler months, you can add some ambiance and warmth with the fireplace (electric). The upstairs does not have heating vents but stays warm with the rising air from the downstairs and is supplemented with a space heater in the bedroom for chilly nights.

SUPPLIES: We provide basic cleaning supplies and dish soap, as well as a starter kit of paper towels and toilet paper. Bed linens and towels are also provided, along with basic amenities such as hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. For longer stays, you may want to bring a few extra towels and toiletries.

LOCAL AREA:
When you stay at our cabin, you can disconnect and enjoy a private getaway. Many visit to simply stay in and relax. If you want to explore more of Virginia's Blue Ridge, there's plenty to see! Expect a bit of a drive for most restaurants and shopping. You can visit the New River State Park - Foster Falls (15-20 min) for hiking, biking or walking along the river, rent bikes and canoes, go river tubing, fishing or arrange a guided horseback trip. You can also explore nearby towns such as Hillsville, Wytheville and Galax to shop at unique antique stores, visit wineries and breweries, and find some great dining spots. Most activities and towns are a 30+ minute drive from the cabin but there are some great spots (Iron Heart Winery is a favorite) within about a 15 minute drive.

OUTDOOR CAMERA: There is an outdoor camera facing the outside staircase/entrance. It is on 24/7 and can record video and sound.

Perfect cabin overlook
A great piece of property with views for days. Had all the amenities we needed. Will definitely return one day. Note: we were able to make it up the driveway in a 2WD pickup with a running start, but regular cars or minivans will struggle. Absolutely worth the climb.

Beautiful cabin!
The cabin is impeccably clean and very nicely decorated. The wrap around porch is an ideal place to relax. Views from two sides are really gorgeous. It is definitely a treasure in Max Meadows. If we're in the area again, I hope to stay there.

Perfect for a getaway
Cabin was exactly as described, and a perfect remote hideaway to relax for a few days. Very much enjoyed sitting out on the deck and watching the sunrise and sunset. Clean, well stocked with items we needed for cooking and grateful to be able to bring our dogs where they enjoyed roaming around the property.

A great getaway spot.
We booked this great little cabin for visiting family in the area. It is very clean and communication from the host was excellent. The views are excellent and sunrises are truly spectacular. The advisory about the driveway is not exaggeration, since my truck is 4x4, it was not a n issue. The only way to get great vistas is by being high up.

More comfortable than a hotel and far more charming
Sometimes it’s the little things that make all the difference: a curved shower curtain rod, a supply of coffee and creamers, remote controls for the bedroom ceiling fans. Despite how rustic the cabin is, our stay was more comfortable than in most hotels. The unit was sparkling clean upon our arrival, to boot. The listing is not exaggerating about the driveway. Our F-150 was fine in 4WD but we tried it once in 2WD and would not have made it. The wraparound porch was a perfect place to spend most of our time, enjoying the view and watching the hawks and occasional deer. There’s a flying squirrel living in the birdhouse by the driveway who watched us in return. :) 10/10 would highly recommend.

Wonderful little Cabin
It was amazing. If you are looking for a place with scenic views look no further! Absolutely stunning to walk around the deck and enjoy the blue ridge mountains. However, I would HIGHLY recommend a 4WD. Don’t make the mistake we made and think “oh well, I am a good driver it shouldn’t be an issue”… chances of someone getting up the last few hundred feet with a fully loaded front wheel drive are very slim!! Anyways, it’s great to disconnect while at the same time you have everything you need from great cell reception to high speed internet. The host is super nice as well!

Weekend in the mountains
The house was a perfect getaway for a few days. The track and driveway were not an issue and the 270 degree views from the property were stunning. The house was very clean and organized, easy access, nice firepit and balcony looking out at the view. We enjoyed every second! Thanks!

Awesome mountain trip
We stopped along our way to visit relatives for thanksgiving for a night. All we wanted was a quiet cabin in the mountains where we could enjoy the fire and play with our dogs. This was perfect. No neighbors anywhere near, beautiful views and we loved the outdoor fire pit. The house was very clean and super cute. The owner was very communicative, answered all of my questions, and was able to accommodate a special request. We will definitely book again when we travel this route!

Cabin in the woods.
Overall really good. Needs information on how to operate tv. Check light bulbs overhead front porch. Probably owner wouldn’t catch that unless there at night. Great wildlife. Definitely need all wheel or four wheel drive vehicle. Fortunately never meet oncoming vehicle. Plenty of places to visit in area, definitely Hillsville and Wytheville. Would stay here again.

Our Long Weekend Getaway
This is an amazing gem hidden in the mountains. The views are spectacular and the location is so private. No neighbors for miles. We ate our body weight in smores, stargazed in the bed of our truck and spent each day relaxing. It was like living in a painting as we took so many pictures of the sunrises and sunsets throughout our stay.

Wonderful relaxing experience. Great place
The cabin is beautifully placed with great views, clean, no noise at all. We decided to take a week of vacation while taking our kids to the scouts camp nearby. It was a great experience. Good balance between many activities not far from here, and the peace and comfort of the place, inviting to stay. Great experience.
