Some of the pillows were very lumpy in our room. Also the heater was very loud and would have turned it off if had heavier doona or extra blankets.

Bathrooms need redoing. I’ve stayed in a handful of rooms at this property and all showers leak water all over the bathroom floor. Check in is extremely impersonal due to the kiosks in reception.

Great location. However, we were here for a 4 night family holiday (4people in a small room) and the service was below average. Our room was only ever serviced the first morning, then never cleaned again. Our rubbish was never cleared, no washing-up supplies or bowls in the kitchenette, no fresh towels. Even with numerous requests to reception for room servicing it still didn’t happen. Very disappointed!!!

I was placed in a room next to the lift so I had very little deep sleep as you can hear the lift all night. The room itself had no ventilation and had not been adjusted from covid days - everything seemed to be in defiance of good air hygience with no covid rules anywhere. Lots of sick clientele and some staff coughing and sneezing in the lifts and foyers. it was dark and gloomy with no natural light and made you feel depressed. I had forgottend how run down Mercure has become (and Id lost all my points over covid as well). Staff at reception were very nice and helped when needed. A lot of rough and rude bogan clients on weekends (who enhanced the lift experience) also contributed to a depressed atmosphere - its not a cheap hotel and breakfast is better value nearby but relatively speaking worth paying a bit more for something a bit more up-market.

Very disappointed with the cost cf what we got. Arrived 40 mins early and were turned away until 2 although could have checked in immediately IF we joined their "club." Room not serviced properly on arrival (no tea or coffee, biscuit crumbs on the couch) and next day came back at 3pm to find room still not serviced. Lifts could NOT cope with the number of people in the hotel and we were trapped on first floor trying to get a lift down as stairs were behind an alarmed door and every lift that came was full. Waiting for at least 20 mins every time we went out.

Fabulously located near plenty of eateries and entertainment, walking distance to almost everything. And if not, public transport nearby. Surprisingly quiet, and condition/cleanliness was good standard. Staff were helpful and professional. Good value buffet breakfast available if prebooked day beforehand.
