Overall okay. The room and location was great. The only thing that could be improved is the service. Traveled for business purpose this time and there was one or two staff members at the reception desk could not figure out the receipt and room situation, and even charged the wrong amount.

We regularly stay at The Victoria. It offers very reasonable prices for clean rooms in an excellent location. On this particular visit our room was a bit noisy from external street noise (trucks/building works) but we've already booked some rooms in November and the Manager assured us they would select quieter rooms for us. It's an excellent place to stay and our 'go to' choice when visiting Melbourne.

Housekeeping of room only fair, hair (Not ours) on floor of bathroom when we went in, floor of room not vacuumed during our stay. Breakfast buffet very good, other meals average, e.g. chicken parmigiana overcooked almost to the point of being burnt. Pork cutlet good, but the accompanying vegetable such as it was, did nothing to support the dish

Loved this hotel. So convenient to everything - sights, transport, shopping, food. Room was huge and very clean. Bar and restaurant staff were friendly. Will stay here again.

We had a heritage queen room and the queen bed was hard against the wall so I had to crawl up from the foot of the bed to get in. I really thought that was inappropriate. There was only 1 chair (a desk chair) and it was so wedged in between the foot of the bed and the desk that it could not be used to watch the TV for example. Had we known the room was so inappropriate in term of size we would NOT have booked it. There was also a lot of dust on the head of the bed which clearly hadn't been wiped for many days and it was very noticeable when when had to shimming up to the head to watch TV and get in bed. Had I got in from my side of the bed, the dust may not have been so noticeable.

1.5 blocks from tram going up or down Swanson street so easy access via tram to flinders st train station, federation square, ACMI, melb central shopping centre. We were able to drop bags off early & collect later than room booking. Restaurant on site very handy & delicious. Staff friendly. Rooms clean. Would stay again.
