Nr Devizes, Marlborough & Bath, , walled garden

Greenheys is a cosy 18th Century semi detached red brick house in the heart of the historic ridge top village of Seend in Wiltshire where most houses are listed - there is also a wonderful village shop. As befitting a period property the decor is traditional with antique furniture. It offers a cosy elegant accommodation in an historic location for a countryside break. It sleeps 4 with an option for 5. It boasts a beautiful walled garden with well stocked flower beds.

The house is a pet friendly, charming 18th century former coaching Inn set across 2 floors. There are two bedrooms on the first floor, including two doubles (one king size bed, one double bed with an additional single bed), sleeping 4 to 5 guests. It has one bathroom and a ground floor cloak room.

The main living room on ground floor has comfortable seating around a wood burner together with a formal dining area. There is also a separate drawing room also with log burner and widescreen TV + Blu Ray player as well as an upright piano.

The kitchen with marbled work services is well equipped with an adjoining walk- in pantry and separate breakfast room. There is also a boot room to store outdoor clothes and coats. As a well as a laundry room with washing machine and dryer.

The patio outside with teak dining table and chairs is a pleasant area to dine in the summer and enjoy the walled garden and elegant greenhouse. The garden includes an enclosed lawned area, and well stocked flower beds. Access via ancient footpaths lead from the garden of Greenheys to the Kennet and Avon Canal to the rear and to the beautiful plains of Wiltshire to the front.

The local market towns of Devizes and Melksham are less than 10 mins drive. The historic towns of Marlborough (25 mins) Bath (35 mins) Salisbury (45 mins) amongst other are further afield. Stonehenge, Avebury and Longleat are also within striking distance.

It is a perfect place to relax with family and/or friends, for re-unions & celebrations, for a long or short break, and also for local events like the Marlborough Summer School.

Character property
The property was much larger than expected and full of character, but is clearly someone’s home . The house is full of the owner’s possessions, too many books all over the place including by the toilet seat which isn’t very hygienic. There are 2 staircases which are out of bounds which I found quite unnerving as anyone could be hiding up there. The kitchen was quite small. Dirty dishcloth and washing up brushes. The microwave and fridge needed a deep clean. The pedal bin was broken. The plates and bowls were very old and cracked or chipped . The bathrooms were clean though (apart from used soap left). Bed comfortable , but only a quarter of the wardrobe available for guests as owners clothes were in there. The wood burner had not been cleaned out prior to our visit . The parking is quite tricky and quite hazardous parking on the busy road . The garden is large and well kept. Lovely walks nearby and a couple of decent pubs.

Beautiful Home, Great Location
Great location to explore south west England. Two nice bedrooms, plently of space downstairs - kitchen, sitting room, dining room, TV room. The patio and garden are beautiful. It had everything we needed, including two travel coffee mugs, so we could take our coffee with us! The town was very walkable, went to the local pub, the post office and walked around the beautiful church and churchyard. Everything was clean and fresh for our visit. I would recommend this place. My grandson loved it,

Quirky property
The property was very interesting. Lots of nooks and crannies and so many books on all subjects. The weather was splendid so we could enjoy the beautiful garden. We had our dog with us, the garden is fully enclosed so we knew she was safe if she went wandering. The property solid and was very cool when outside was really hot.

All that is pictured
A lovely historic end of terrace house and garden, as shown in its picture. We'd assumed that several homes were pictured, but this is all the destination. The interior is packed with vintage and antique objects so young children or dogs must be careful.

Beautiful house, lovely garden, nice little village
Impressed with the house, the photos in the listing don't do it justice. An old but very lovely house with plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 small dogs. Beautiful garden (fully walled/enclosed so dogs can run free), off street parking (although tricky with an SUV/big car!) and very comfortable. Can highly recommend.

Beautiful house and garden
We had a lovely stay in Seend at this property, which is beautiful and perfect for our weekend catch up with friends. The garden is large and tidy and we enjoyed having a BBQ. The area is very quiet and there is a nice pub within walking distance. We would recommend this house, which was larger than we expected! It felt very cosy at night.

Beautiful relaxing country retreat
This was the perfect getaway for the Easter holidays with the kids. The kids (3 and 5) enjoyed the well kept lawn for garden games and the patio dining area was fantastic when we had friends to visit for dinner. The home has a beautiful country charm. The kitchen although small was so well stocked with cupboard space and cooking utensils, just what we needed when cooking for friends. The house is well positioned for bike rides along the canal tow path. We had a wonderful time.

I was extremely satisfied with my stay!
I was completely blown away when I walked through the doors and saw a beautifully updated cottage from 1700. It was charming yet very spacious. We made many day trips and the cottage was a perfect central location to them all. It was so nice to end the great day at our cozy home with multiple wood burning stoves, and wake up in this great homey space. Edward is a wonderful host!

Beautiful, cosy and very welcoming...
We spent Christmas 2017 at this very tastefully furnished cottage. Thanks to the owners for putting up a. Christmas Tree and other decorations - it was so thoughtful! Perfect for the dogs and plenty of walks from the cottage too. I can thoroughly recommend it as a getaway place.

A beautiful house, very tastefully decorated. The gardens are just as beautiful!
We had a great stay at Greenheys. Four friends and I wanted a weekend retreat away to someone quaint and with good local walks - this suited us perfectly! We found a lovely pub down the road and had a refreshing walk along the canal. The house is wonderful, old and beautifully decorated. The gardens are very pretty too!
