The best accommodation in Melrose! If you value good service, cleanliness, a great breakfast and spacious accommodation, this is for you. We are not B&B people, have never previously stayed in one, but I don't think this is your typical B&B.

If you are planning to visit the Melrose area then The Barn@ The Coachouse is a great place to stay. Donald and Claire are great hosts and are so welcoming you feel that you are staying with good friends.

We had a wonderful stay here, in this beautiful setting, minutes from the center of Melrose. Donald and Claire Macdonald were cordial and gracious hosts, who went out of their way to make us feel welcome in their lovely home. Our room was quiet, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. It was equipped with every amenity one could think of, including a small refrigerator stocked with bottled water, a tea/coffee making tray, and a supply of biscuits. We were even given terry cloth shower robes. Every morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast, with many options to choose from. Everything was prepared to perfection and beautifully served. We especially appreciated the many useful suggestions and helpful information offered for exploring the area. Claire also recommended several restaurants, and Donald was kind enough to drive us to one of them for dinner one night when our rental car had a flat tire. We will always remember our visit to the Coach House and the warm hospitality we enjoyed here.

Our first stay in Melrose.
Our stay at "The Barn " was very enjoyable our host Claire made us most welcome and was helpful since it was our first stay in Melrose. Our room was exceedingly good and comfortable and everything we needed was there. There was plenty of choice at breakfast, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our overnight stop here was perfect.
