The property was nice. The check in was horrible I booked through Expedia for $265.56 the hotel over charged me $309.56 I’ve been trying to reach Crown Plaza accounting department I’ve left messages and no response.

Must of the lights and outlets were nonfunctional. Shower had 3 shampoos, no conditioner, no body wash, no other soap. I was double charged. I booked through Expedia and they also charged me for the room.

The hotel has a shuttle service to Beale Street and parking onsite for a fee. The staff is friendly, helpful, polite and professional. The manager Stephanie and maintenance technician, Desmond were very helpful. This was our first experience at the Crown, and we would stay there again.

As a professional airline pilot, I stay in at least three hotels per week all over the country, some of which are Crown Plazas but this was by far the worst! I was attending a pilot’s convention in Memphis with my girlfriend. The conference hotel was full but the Crown Plaza was the overflow hotel, so I booked a room there. Upon arrival in the room, we noticed a bed bug crawling on the pillow, along with hair that had been left there. We immediately went to the front desk, reported the incident, and requested a different room. Unfortunately, the second room on a different floor, wasn’t much better. The carpet was filthy, what appeared to be blood splatters appeared on te bathroom wall and the toilet did not flush! We returned to the front desk and were told this time that there were no more rooms available, so if we agreed, our reservation would be cancelled and a refund issued, as the room was pre-paid. Almost a week has past with no refund and the manager says they are investigating the incident.

Overall, the location was great and staff amazing. The rooms are absolute garbage. My toilette kept make noises and spouting water at random times, the ceiling in the bathroom looks like it was going to cave in due to water damage, and the ventilation inside the bathroom could look across to the adjacent room, as the drywall separating the rooms (inside the ventilation) was torn.

The iron had something burnt onto it. The toilet ran all night. When it was brought to the hotel's attention, instead of offering us a new room, we were asked " so what do you want to do, move to another room or have the toilet fixed?" (sarcastically). The room phone didn’t work. We stayed 3 nights and our room was cleaned once. We had to ask for towels more than once on the same day. The second time we asked for towels, we had to listen to a debate between employees as to who was responsible for getting said towels. Was promised points but never received them. Also, the room had a funny smell as if old or mildewy. Based on our experience here, we will not be staying at this property again.
