This 867 square foot riverfront abode has a secluded feel while being close to the amenities of town. This charming cottage comes with a queen bed, 2 sleeper singles, and a double futon. It boasts a full bathroom with customary toiletries and hairdryer provided as well as plenty of towels, etc. There is a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, toaster. Coffee, teas, and snacks provided. Washer and dryer are conveniently located in the garage.
The most appealing features are the banks of windows providing panoramic views of the San Saba River. A deck attached to the sitting room is ideal for coffee or cocktails while nature-watching.
Located on one of the widest parts of the river, it offers excellent fishing, kayaking, swimming and wildlife viewing.
The property itself is a 2-acre tree-covered peninsula, the San Saba River on one side and Los Moras Creek on the other. A large private dock provides river-front viewing.
The tip of the property connects to a 4+ acre island, which provides additional area for fishing, exploring, bird-watching, etc! Very private!
The cottage sits at the end of a small, quiet subdivision just 1.5 miles west of downtown Menard. There is parking available for several vehicles and a carport. The yard has large open areas for lawn games. Smoking is allowed outside only near the firepit area.

Menard County boasts many historical sites such as the
Presidio de San Saba, once known as Presidio San Luis de las Amarillas, a fortress constructed in 1757 and designed to protect Spanish interests in the region, including nearby Mission Santa Cruz de San Saba.
Fort McKavett State Historic Site is also located in Menard County. It's a short 30-minute drive to see this frontier fort established as Camp on the San Saba in 1852 to protect settlers from Indian raids.
