One of my many trips to Merced to see my son at UCM. This hotel never disappoints! The rooms are beautiful with unique decor so you don’t feel like you are in a generic hotel. Very comfortable beds, large bathroom and great amenities. I highly recommend!

A gem in the Sierra Foothills.
A really lovely old hotel that has been nicely upgraded to modern standards. Everyone, from the front desk, to the people working the bar, to the valets, to the cleaners were friendly and helpful. The decor is quite pleasant and features art work from local photographers and painters. The bed and pillows were comfy and the room well appointed. Frankly, I was surprised.

harming Decor and Great Amenities with a Slight Mo
I recently stayed at the El Capitan in Merced on my way to Yosemite and was truly impressed by the beautiful room and stunning decor throughout the hotel. The aesthetic really adds a special touch to the experience. The on-site restaurant and coffee shop were also top-notch, offering delicious meals and great coffee. I appreciated the pet-friendly atmosphere, even though I didn’t have a pet myself—the signage welcoming pets was adorable! A unique touch was their offer of local seeds for guests, highlighting the importance of agriculture in the Central Valley. It was a lovely gesture, encouraging guests to take some seeds home and understand their impact on community and home gardening. The only downside was the noise in the morning from nearby construction, which was a bit disruptive. Despite this, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend the hotel for its charm and quality amenities. Looking forward to visiting again!

Walking through the alley from self parking at night is not friendly. Fighting in the alley way through the night outside our window. The staff are very friendly. Eooms are very small.

Very slick hotel in the downtown Merced! A bit of luxury in an otherwise depressed town. Well maintained with very courteous staff. The patio and rainbird are great additions. The gym is nice! Highly recommended if you are in Merced.

Enjoyable stay in a very nice facility with a lovely patio and adjacent restaurants, despite loud music, traffic next to hotel delaying rest/sleep at night. Nearby trains run at all hours, but quickly got used to that.

The staff was exceptional, very accommodating, and friendly. The location was perfect. Lots a little downtown area. Lots of restaurants. The rumba stations: set up perfect bathroom was great. We really enjoyed our stay. Overall in the fitness room is fantastic. And my favorite was the courtyard.
