Charming and historic creek side cabin in Mesa Colorado

Come enjoy the serenity charm of this beautifully restored creek side cabin just a minute from the town of Mesa Colorado. This cabin was one of the original homesteads in the area craftfully built by a Swedish family in 1894. Sit on the wrap around porch and enjoy the beautiful views of the Mesa, coon creek, ponds, and plentiful wildlife just like it used to be 100+ years ago.

The cabin features a large master bedroom with a king size bed, a loft with a queen size bed, a fully functional kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining space, and a full bathroom with a claw foot tub to relax in after a day of activities. This rental is ideal for 1-2 couples or a small family. However, please note that to access the loft you have to climb a ladder and there are no rails so it may not be suitable for very young children.

Aside from wildlife, you will likely also see a few domestic animals that pasture on the ranch property (sheep, llamas, goats, cows and occasionally chickens). There is also a barn cat named Lily that is very friendly.

Plenty of nearby recreation awaits with the Grand Mesa, Powederhorn ski resort, and the new Palisade plunge mountain biking trail. Additionally, the manager of this property is a owner of the new Mesa Bloom Market just a minute away, featuring over 70 local vendors, with a great selection of meat, produce, coffee, ice cream, drinks, snacks, gifts, any of the staples you might need and much more. So make sure to stop by during your stay and enjoy a free drink or ice cream on us.

Star-link internet has recently been installed and seems to be working well. Additionally, there is a good cell signal on most of the property.

Please inquire if you have any questions!

Beautiful quiet place
This cabin is amazing. Comfortable, clean, and quiet. The location is perfect if you like a tranquil setting with the sound of a stream in your front yard. The gas fireplace on and the llama and sheep greeting us when we arrived were an added bonus. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

July 2024 Vacation in Western Colorado
This property is truly outstanding and we are making plans for a return visit. We stayed for a week and had an excellent vacation in a beautiful part of Colorado. There were two of us with our dog and we all were very comfortable. The house sits in a park-like setting surrounded by grass fields with grazing livestock (9 sheep and one lama). As a result, the facility is extremely quiet and peaceful. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, and the rest of the house was very spacious with room to spread out. The presence of a small. but well-equipped market 1/2 mile down the road was a real plus. The close proximity to many diverse activities (Grand Mesa National Forrest, Palisades, Grand Junction, Colorado National Monument, etc.) makes it an ideal location for a Western Colorado vacation. Definitely the best VRBO we have visited to date! Overall, our visit could not have been better.

Second trip - still perfect - utterly relaxing
We just had our second trip to the cabin in Mesa - me, my wife, our dog. It's become one of our very favorite getaways. We sleep so good, spend a lot of time chilling on the wonderful shady wraparound porch, watching the sunsets and stars. This time we made the half hour drive up to Grand Mesa and splashed around in the incredibly beautiful glacier lakes. You can't go wrong here if you're looking to unplug and enjoy. Do make sure to stop by the market at the end of the street for groceries, coffee, and ice cream. Oh, one thing: if you want to sip an adult beverage, bring it from out of town! There's one store in town but it's always closed and the selection is terrible. Enjoy!

Perfect cabin getaway
The log cabin has charm to it that is hard to replicate; this is authentic cozy, comfortable relaxation at its best. The rural setting is lovely, we felt tucked away guarded by huge trees, sung to by a chorus of birds and endlessly entertained by the weather. We want to return in fall

This house oozes rustic charm. Set in a picturesque valley surrounded by peaceful animals and towering mountains, it was so easy to relax on the wrap-around porch. Modern conveniences are also tucked inside if needed. Would love to stay again and highly recommend to those venturing off the beaten path.

So relaxing and serene
This was the best place we’ve ever stayed with VRBO, wife said “perfect”…..quiet, awesome porch with the vistas of the Grand Mesa, running stream, perfect get away for a couple, historic, the location is amazing, and the sheep set the mood, reminded us of Ireland. Just far enough from attractions, Palisade and Grand Junction. We’ll be back ❤️

Wonderful Stay
Driving up to the cabin, I was in awe of the beauty of it all and thought the pictures definitely didn’t oversell this absolutely lovely spot. We enjoyed our stay very much and loved the market as well. Evenings were beautiful and peaceful. We made friends with the llama too lol. I would definitely recommend this property just make sure you understand the loft bedroom. We did so no surprises. Ty was great too. It was just a really enjoyable stay and extra special with the history and beauty of it all.

Quiet Natural Beauty
Historic cabin with just the right amount of modern amenities, great location, beautiful mornings and evenings spent on the porch and in the shade of mature trees. The daytime temps were in the 90s but the evenings were cool enough for us to open the windows and get a lovely breeze for peaceful sleeping. The evening sky was so dark we enjoyed stargazing and star photography. We had easy access to Grand Mesa and Palisade, each just a short drive away. Perfect place for unplugging and renewing our connection to nature!
