Started off great and ended poorly
The hotel seemed great for a minute. The first front desk woman was kind and allowed us to hold our bags and pay for the spa to kill time since we arrived much earlier than expected. Pool and resting areas are very clean and nice. A lot of options to relax and not a lot of traffic. But when we checked in there was no AC so it was pretty stuffy and hot and never cooled down even with the windows open. The main issue was having the second person working at the front desk try and hold our food we ordered hostage. I am vegetarian so I opted out of their expensive buffet. We got no notice of our food being delivered. Only found out when we passed by the front desk walking around the hotel. The worker proceeded to vaguely threaten us saying we wouldn’t be treated so kindly next time we ordered food to the hotel because it was forbidden. Followed by her hesitating to go behind the counter where our food was being stashed as if she wasn’t going to give it to us. She then reiterated we needed to get our food out of sight to avoid her coworker also being unkind over what we ordered. It was extremely off putting given what we paid for the room and spa. Also there was nothing stated to us about this policy so we were blindsided.

The hotel changed the Covid rules when I arrived requiring a test from their guests on a daily basis. It was by far the most retroactive rule any business set up during the time I was in Germany. In addition to this the hotel used to have a reputation of being excellent years ago. It is not a luxury hotel anymore. Rooms are very simple, beds (futon mattress) is sparse and uncomfortable, the duvet is the quality of a blanket in an old youth hostel and the bathrooms are just old…

A unique find
Really amazing hotel that was incredibly relaxing and nothing like I expected. The entire ambience was about wellness and the hotel itself was like a step back in time with log fires everywhere. Staff were attentive and helpful and the food was very good.

If I have chance, I stay here again and again
The hotel is just fantastic. Highly recommended for a weekend stay, absolutely romantic cozy place. Heaven for a perfectionist, so many beautiful details making the atmosphere here unique. This is the case when you expect a lot from pictures, but receive even more than expected. I absolutely enjoyed my stay. Honestly, if I were the owner of this place, I would live here. Spa zone is open till late at night, so you have chance to take rest even after longer business day. Breakfast is just perfect. Green park of the hotel is so nice. And those fireplaces in the lobby.. Great experience for myself, it is built with so much love to this business.
