Our stay at this hotel was unsafe and unhealthy. The room had no real ventilation, and the windows were completely sealed, causing extremely high humidity. Black mold was clearly visible on the walls, which is dangerous for anyone with respiratory sensitivities. This violates basic health and safety standards outlined by EPA and OSHA, as well as Florida Public Lodging requirements (Florida Statutes § 509), which mandate safe and sanitary living conditions.
In addition, the hotel sprayed a strong chemical air freshener in the hallways and rooms, making it difficult to breathe and causing headaches. Combined with the humidity and mold, the environment felt truly unhealthy.
We reported the issue to the front desk twice. Both times we were told someone would come to inspect and resolve the problem, but no one ever showed up. The hotel later offered to move us to another room, but the other rooms had the exact same issues: sealed windows, no ventilation, high humidity, and visible mold. This shows that the problem is not limited to one room, but is systemic throughout the property.
The lack of proper response and the overall condition of the rooms make this hotel one of the most unsafe places we have stayed in. I do not recommend it to anyone, especially guests with allergies, asthma, or any respiratory issues.
