Beautiful Family Cottage in Beachwalk-Grill-AC-Free Wifi-Kids Haven.

Mythology and the perfect beach holiday meet in this charming 2-story guest house that feels as though it were straight out of a fairy tale. The Troll's Den sleeps 6 people with 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths, full kitchen, and laundry facilities. This house is perfect for families or small gatherings, with queen beds in two bedrooms and bunk beds in the other. The Trolls welcome your visit and, if you're quick, you may catch a glimpse of one inside the Troll Hole.

Loaded with games, toys, books, music, four TVs with and high-speed wifi this house is perfectly located across the street from the waterfall pond and a half-block walk from the pool, Lake Kai, and the new playground. A leisurely 5-minute walk to Lake Michigan on the pristine Indiana Dunes (national lakeshore) which is a top-rated beach where you can see the Chicago skyline on a clear day.

The Troll's Den is located in the Beachwalk, an award-winning resort community in Michigan City, Indiana, where there is activities aplenty right outside your doorstep.

All cleaning fees are baked into the nightly rate. Golf cart rentals are prohibited at Trolls Den.

From the Friday before Memorial Day through October 1, there is a 3-night minimum and all guests must purchase resort passes, which cost $15 per person. There is a $5 parking cost per car.

Cleanliness has always been a top priority for our company. If you've stayed with us before, you may have seen this during your visits. Our cleaning and infection control processes were put in place so that when you visit our homes at the Beachwalk, they are both safe and comfortable.

We will continue remote check-in/check-out procedures, but as always will be available to take your calls, answer any questions, and provide the overall great service you have come to expect. Early check-ins or late check-outs will be allowed when possible and will be charged at the hourly average of the nightly rate.

This was a great place to spend a weekend visiting the dunes! The cottage was as fun and whimsical as advertised, and the beachwalk was a really nice little vacation community, even during the off-season. When we left, my partner and I agreed that we would definitely come back. Highly recommend!

Great spot and community

Host was excellent. Very communicative, rules were outlined and easy to follow. Able to find everything pretty easily. Was clean and plenty of space. Would love to come back and stay with more seasonably and warm weather (visited in March) ! The proximity to the beech and the resort community is a great spot w many amenities.

My favorite stay so far

I cannot speak highly enough for our stay. I have traveled a lot; this by far blew my mind. This amazing community a diamond in the rut. The hosting family very helpful with my technological challenges and went above and beyond to make it magical for my girls. Everything well equipped and very clean. I would recommend to anyone. Family weekend

Just a quick weekend with my family. We had a wonderful time, my kids had fun playing board games and watching movies with their cousins. We walked to the beach, although, it was cold but it was lovely. It was definitely a wonderful trip. Would do it again.

Perfect winter escape!

Took my small work team up for our planning sesh and we hunkered down at the cozy Trolls Den and got ‘er done. It was priced great and gave us all we needed. The host staff even shoveled the snow off our porch and under our car!! The greater Beachwalk community is beautiful and idyllic with the fresh snow and bright colored homes - we even bundled up and took a walk down to Lake Michigan and through neighborhood. #greatteammemories!!!

We needed a second house for an expanding family. This was down the street from the larger house and worked very well. One thought- the headspace between the bunk beds is not large enough for adults to sleep there.

Enjoyable getaway

We spent two wonderful days with friends at Indiana Dunes. We loved the house, the village, proximity to the beach, the area restaurants and a winery that was a delight to spend a quiet afternoon at.

Good for a small family

We stayed here with our family of four which worked well for us. Close to the pool and beach, but it would have been nice to have a golf cart or wagon with little kids(listing said that there was a wagon, but there was none by our house). House was clean and had all of the necessities. Our kids loved the troll hole! The deposit is very very large, more than our entire rental fee-we stayed four nights. It takes the full two weeks to be refunded as well, so take that into account. Overall, it is a good place to stay, however, we would prefer somewhere with a smaller deposit and a golf cart or wagon.

Grandkids loved it!

My husband and I went with our daughter, son-in-law, and their two boys ages 3 & 4 for a three night stay. Spent the early afternoon at the Hesston Steam Museum with a short drive to a 3:00 check in. The grandkids loved the house! They thought the troll cave was awesome. So much fun stuff to do within walking distance. The playground was a big hit especially the big green slide. The closest beach (easy walk) was awesome and we also enjoyed another beach at the National Park. We all had fun picking blueberries. Everyone enjoyed their time here and can’t wait to visit again!

Friend Vacation

Rented both Valhalla and Trolls Den for a long weekend with friends. Combined there were 17 of us, 10 adults and 7 kids. The combined space between the houses was excellent for hanging out. Both houses looked exactly as listed and the host was right there if anything was needed. Communication was easy and there was plenty of extras (blankets, pillows, wagons, beach toys). Community was gorgeous and easy to get around. Would stay again!

Trolls Den

The only issue we had was the surprise of finding out when we got there that we had to pay $15 a person for a wristband to use the amenities, and $5 to park one vehicle in front of the three bedroom house and an additional $10-$15 per other vehicle. The amenities cost were not optional, if you stay here you have to purchase the wristbands for everyone staying.

We usually come to stay at the Troll’s Den at least once a year, sometimes twice! It is the perfect place for our little family! Everything is always perfect on our arrival, and Anders is very communicative during our stay if anything comes up.

Perfect Family Spot

Super location, super clean, super cute! We enjoyed sitting on the porch talking for hours, the kitchen was well equipped, the beds were all comfortable, plenty of towels in bathrooms, and beach chairs available to use. We also took the bikes on a trail ride! Hosts were wonderful, we plan to come back in the near future 😊

Clean, charming, wonderful location…just perfect!!

My husband, adult son and I stayed in the Troll’s Den. It was so charming, had everything we needed for our stay plus more. It was very clean, exceptionally maintained and well stocked. The Beachwalk is a great community. Although it was off season, we enjoyed the walk to the beach. The owners live right next door, we had the pleasure of meeting them. They take great pride in their properties and it shows. This was our first time in the area, we will be back!

Great for families

The rental was very clean, fun, and perfect for our family of four young kids. The whole house is decorated in a trolls theme (which my girls didn't like at first, but eventually loved) and is very fun to look at and has a fun nature to it. The whole community is full of themed houses, very colorful, and would be so much fun to see during the peak season. We came during the off season as a pass through, but still enjoyed just walking the community and going to the Indiana Sand Dunes just down the road. There is a nice park just a few blocks away for kids to play at and the Michigan Lake beach is within walking distance. Stores are 10-15 minutes away for supplies. We enjoyed our stay.
