excellent and convenient place for a large group
We can't say enough good things about our stay here! We were a group of 8 (two sisters' families, with adult kids) and we spent Christmas week. There was room for everyone, plus more if needed. The bathrooms are set up really conveniently for a big group---sort of like at a summer camp, with a boys' and a girls' bathroom, each with two toilet stalls, two sinks, and two showers. The kitchen also was set up for a larger group, which is difficult to find in Europe (large refrigerator, restaurant-style dishwasher), four dining tables that can be combined. But it still felt like a home--very nicely designed, very clean, private. The beds were really comfortable, with nice linens. Most rooms had a sink in them, too. The 17th-century windmill on the property is open a couple of days per week and is well worth a visit--you can buy flour there too! You are close enough to Amsterdam to go in for day trips very easily, and there are nice towns to visit nearby. Walking distance to Middenbeemster, where there are restaurants, shops, grocery store, and smaller Westbeemster. Internet supported lots of us at a time. Property manager was very helpful. Highly recommended--we would come again for sure. Thank you, Rona!
