Cheap stay
Good stay, staff and pub on site really good.food excellent, rooms quite old but clean .
Very comfortable bed! The room was pretty clean, around the shower screen was the only complaint.
Kettle didn't work, had to hold the button for it to boil.
On arrival had to go and find someone to check in.
At breakfast, had to go and find staff to ask for items that were missing. Weren't shown to a table so we chose one- which wasn't reserved- then were asked to move as it had no cutlery for breakfast. Another couple came in and sat at the exact same table - there was plenty of other tables free as we were the only ones in there and the staff didn't ask them to move but brought cutlery over.
We had a bottle of wine for our room but no corkscrew, when asking for one the staff were quite rude and reluctant to open it for us, although they did, we were made to feel like we'd done something wrong.
Room was super hot, very dated sink had cracks bathroom leaks into the main room when you shower.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The Manager was quite friendly at checkin but did not tell us the buffet rules I paid 500 and they started taking food away before everyone had eaten, we were told there was a 2 hr rule but they took full trays of food away that I had paid for, looked like they were taking it for the next party of staff members very disappointing to say the least.
Most of the staff at the bar were very pleasant and polite. The two ladies who were checking me in were incredible rude. Continued their conversation for a good minute and didn’t acknowledge me, then looked at the computer screen and demanded ‘you checking in’
Then in the evening one of these ladies (blonde bob hairstyle) was serving behind the bar. I asked for two bottles of water, only sparkling was available when I asked for tap instead (as I did not want sparkling) she banged the glass down and rolled her eyes.
All the ther staff were pleasant enough, including the lady at reception in the evening. The room was grubby and while cleanish, had many marks and stains. The curtains also did not close properly making it a bit unnerving for a email travelling alone.
It’s a shame as location was ideal, but I won’t be back
Room was clean and nice. Pub linked to hotel was just full of people who have never seen an outsider before. Had to move table 4 time because they would just stare at you. They are a different breed! Cheap food and drink though

Disliked: Amenities
The stay was easy to book and check in, pub just downstairs that does food and drink with easy access,
Room was clean, sometimes the noise of people on the corridor can be heard quite easily and the shower pressure was very weak.
Felt quite dated and smelt musty as entered corridor to rooms, bathroom had mould stains and water wouldn’t drain in shower so filled up as using it. Nobody on reception to tell and even when we checked out again nobody there. Couldn’t find anyone in bar or around so couldn’t report before leaving.
Good parking, check in ok, Very comfy bed and nice little touch with biscuits and tea/coffee sachets.
Breakfast nice, prices in pub high compared to others in area but do get 10% off if staying in hotel.
All in all was okay and got a good nights sleep.
