2/10 Terrible

Disliked: Cleanliness
Transported Back in Time... and not in a good way.
It's not that the property itself is terrible; it has potential. But imagine that your grandmother furnished the place in the 1970s, and then nothing was ever replaced, she died in the house, and you rented it out the next day without cleaning it first or since. The furniture was so dirty that none of our party (4 kids and 4 adults) wanted to sit on any of it. The place was dank and smelled. Bugs and spiders everywhere. Yes, it was originally an old mill built in the 14th or 15th century, but i'm not sure much money has gone into it since... It didn't help that it was nearly 36 degrees celsius with no AC, or that it is probably more comfortable sleeping in an army barracks compared to the beds they have. One shower (of two for a place that "sleeps 12") was completely useless, there was no welcome package, nearly everything there (ping pong table, pool table, etc.) only had broken or decrepit equipment in desperate need of being replaced, basically no functional outlets anywhere, wifi hardly worked, no cell coverage. We decided to spend most of our time outside, where the property does have a nice pool and grounds. Too bad the furniture was the cheapest garbage possible. Also - beware where you walk; felt like we were in a swampland; kids had a nice encounter with a scorpion by the pool. The one highlight nearby is a gem of a restaurant, Osteria Dello Sperone. If you're trapped in this hell, that is the one place to go.
