Beware of a middle management company
I have rented from VRBO for years & never had a problem. This time was different. This was for a family holiday get together. VRBO had the listing but it is managed by Vacation Ohiopyle (VO). & then there are the private owners. They each have their own set of policies. After I booked - I was billed 230 by VRBO - not sure for what. Then a 500 damage deposit by VO. Positives - 5 bedrooms w/5 baths; well stocked kitchen; awesome playroom for kids; Negatives - living room only accommodates a few people; no instructions for hot tub- which was set at 92 - took forever to heat up when we figured out how to use it; grill did not work; several lightbulbs burnt out; 2 toilets with flushing issues; The outside has a nice area but the house is next to a busy road and several houses and business close by - not very private. Communication was poor with the owners. They did not answer messages right away - or at all. I did not receive my damage deposit within 2 weeks as stated - I messaged the owners - no response. I contacted VRBO - told to contact VO as they had the deposit. Emailed VO - no response. Called VO and had to leave a message stating I would file a complaint with VRBO if I did not receive my damage deposit. They finally sent it through my bank - this took a month - but never contacted me by phone or email. I cannot recommend this property and I would never rent through Vacation Ohiopyle again.
