"We celebrated my granddaughters birthday. The lady that took my call when i had questions, was the same lady that checked us in. I wish i would have gotten her name.She was wonderful!! She wished my granddaughter a happy birthday, at breakfast the next day she asked how swimming was. She smiled everytime we seen her! The best customer service I have ever had staying somewhere!! We are from Defiance, so this was in our hometown. She still asked if we needed anythign. I just truly appreciate her kindness!! "

"We couldnt get in or get ahold of owner at check in time, so we couldnt cancel before check in time. Home is in a bad neighborhood. Kitchen cabinets full of junk and pans etc were nasty. Fridge was dirty and mildew in freezer. Bedroom1 pillows were brown and old. Bedroom 2 there was saw dust all over the bed and there was either mold, or bug feces onbox springs. Bedroom 3 had no sheets on the bedand stains all over pillows. There was no heat coming into any of the bedrooms. There was snow and it hadnt been shoveled. Owner said he would make it right with what we paid because it was acceptable the way it was. Bathroom tub wasnt clean the bathmat was brown with nastyness. Toilet wasnt attatched to floor. "

We usually stay with my mom when we visit for the holidays but this time an elderly aunt got mom’s guest room so we debated as to either getting a hotel room for multiple days or a VRBO. I am very glad we chose staying at The General’s Quarters. It is a cozy place, with a lot of references to General Anthony Wayne, the inevitable founder of Defiance, OH. A perfect place for two or a family to stay at when visiting this city of 20,000 in NW OH."
