It gets none more grand than the grounds and the structure of The Fujiya Hotel. It is timeless and classic. If you don’t get a special feeling while staying at this hotel, you might be dead inside.

I deeply appreciate the historic nature and commitment in the preservation of this beautiful hotel. The main dining room is gorgeous, with craft attention to details in the interior. The experience is memorable in that you feel as though you are transported back in time, while having the conveniences of modern amenities.

Amazing landscaping around the property, our forest view room really put you in the forest (in the best way possible). A walk though the gardens is a must, the old operational water wheel near the top exudes peace and tranquility. Dinner staff at the Kikko-So Japanese restaurant are friendly and provide a polished and precise experience. The main lobby staff are unrelenting in providing above and beyind service, retrieving for me a 92 year old relic for me to view.

Gorgeous surroundings, it’s amazing. It’s a bit far from the town and very limited food areas around . Hotel Restaurants are a bit expensive. They have a free shuttle that takes you to the nearest station.

Great view from My room and from the onsen. Staff was very friendly and very easy to communicate with in English. I will consider this hotel for future trips to Japan. Price is not cheap, but it is worth every dollar. Great experience.

Beautiful decor, amazing hospitality, cozy room. If you don't feel like dining at the hotel, try the Italian restaurant next to the hotel, it's good.

A True and Lovely Japanese Classic Hotel
The hotel was amazing. Breakfast each morning was heavenly in the main dining room, The Fujiya. We thoroughly enjoyed the on-site onsen. Wonderful way to unwind and enjoy the view of the mountains from the onsen. We had afternoon coffee compliments of the hotel. Early Bird cocktails in Bar Victoria. Our room was an end unit - so comfy, quiet, 3 large windows to appreciate the landscaping of the hotel. French pressed sheets and comforter. The en-suite bathroom complete with a soaking tub. All the amenities provided. In-room pajamas and yukata overjackets to keep us warm. Spacious room with high ceilings. An added surprise was the Gallery Cozy - coffee, tea, soft drinks 24/7. We walked the grounds - please do this to fully take in all the outdoors and indoors What the Fujiya Hotel offers to her guests.

This property is absolutely stunning and the hospitality of the staff was practically unmatched during the rest of our trip. We arrived later in the day and wished we had come earlier to spend more time on the property. The food at the onsite restaurants was impeccable and the room was very comfortable. Staying here was incredibly relaxing after several days in Tokyo and we wished we had stayed two nights instead of one. It was about an hour from the Mt. Fuji attractions which were also some of our favorites from our trip to Japan (Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto).

The onsen was lovely, as were the staff. The room was spacious with lots of storage, excellent shower, comfortable bed and provision of everything we needed, including fresh ptjamas, robe and slippers daily… On the downside, the hotel looks a bit like a sports club or conference centre in places, it is stark, with little atmosphere in the bar. We were unable to try the Japanese restaurant for dinner, the French one had minuscule portions, probably exacerbated by the waitress asking if I wanted a half portion and clearly misunderstanding the question of how large it was - a 2 inch square portion of fish… the trout starter was very good and my partner pronounced his tiny portion of beef excellent. Lack of vegetables… western restaurant was ok, nothing special. Breakfast in the western part was pretty good and a walk through the gardens. I’m Not sure i would stay again, but service was excellent…
