This fully air conditioned, elegant modern villa sits splendidly in 5 acres of land in the middle of a
gorgeous valley with breathtaking panoramic views. It is just a few minutes by car from the centre
of Modica. Light and spacious, the Villa is tastefully furnished and designed to provide comfortable
accommodation for up to 10 guests. It is equipped with a fireplace, Smart TV with Netflix for movies
and children’s entertainment, plenty of toys, screens on windows and 5 air-conditioned bedrooms.
From outside, the views are breathtaking: you may hear the peal of Modica's bells from a mile away
and the closer tinkling of cowbells. We have especially planned for the safety of small children and
babies. All access points to the pool have gates to keep young children safe and the saltwater pool
means no red eyes or chlorine smell.
We have a secure full-size playground of 140sq meters for the children to enjoy, large terraces
overlooking the countryside, a manicured garden interspersed with fruit trees and lawn areas
offering plenty of space in which to soak up the beauty of the Mediterranean landscape. The
private, solar-heated outdoor roman style pool is ideal for children to splash and paddle under the
vigilant eye of adults. The Villa also has a tennis court, zip line, Jacuzzi hot tub, playground for children, Ping Pong table, football table, and a fantastic outdoors dining area with Gas Weber BBQ,
sprawling garden and lots of spaces for adults to enjoy which are peaceful and relaxing.
At the far corner of the property, we have a petting zoo of domestic animals. There is a pony, a
donkey, chickens, ducks, geese, Tibetan goats, and much more, which kids and adults can interact
with if they like.
The Villa is environmentally friendly: we produce our own solar electricity and hot water and our
saltwater pool is heated by thermo solar panels. By coming to our villa your vacation will not
produce any carbon footprint.
We offer the best family holiday villa anywhere in Sicily;
• Maid service or a cook for an original Sicilian meal can be arranged at the time of booking
• English is spoken as a first language.
Sicily’s original thin-crusted pizza is a must try. As there’s a topping for every taste so everyone is
bound to find something they like; the more adventurous palate should go for the classic, which
includes anchovies, herbs and strong local cheese on a fresh tomato base. For dessert it’s cannoli
of course, deep-fried pastry tubes filled with sweet ricotta, that takes the centre stage. Arancini —
delicious fried rice balls — are another option for a cheap meal on the go. A local street-food tour is
a fun way to explore for those who love to try new dishes.
Modica
Fall under the magic spell of baroque Modica with its cobbled streets and laneways flanked by
imposing fairytale palaces and magnificent cathedrals. The town is renowned for its almond
pastries, custard sweets and chocolate delicacies — especially those made by local pastry chef
from Dolce Arte only 5 minutes from the Villa. Follow the sweet scent of powdered cinnamon down
winding lanes to find old-fashioned bakeries and encourage the kids to taste the local treats.
Cafes and restaurants with outdoor seating are everywhere; you can always find a place to rest and
eat a gelato, sip a glass of our local wine, or cool down with a refreshing lemon granita. For
chocolate lovers a special treat awaits, Modica is famous for a unique type of chocolate with a
recipe which dates back to the Spanish rulers that ruled Sicily. Today it’s a delicacy that’s a must try.
Fancy swimming in the Mediterranean sea? It could not be easier; just a 20 minutes drive and you
are on lovely gold sandy beaches where children will love to build sand castles. The seaside towns of
Marina di Modica, Pozzallo and Sampieri provide an array of shops, restaurants and beach clubs.
Exciting day trips from the Villa
The east side of the island is famed for its succession of exquisite baroque towns including
Catania, a splendid city lying between Etna and the Ionian Sea, Syracuse, with its temples, Greek
Theatre, Roman Amphitheatre and Ear of Dionysius and Ragusa, with its traces of human
settlements dating from as early as the 3rd millennium BC.
Towering 3,329 meters high, Mount Etna, Europe’s tallest volcano, is one of Sicily’s seven UNESCO
World Heritage Sites. It is a family favourite because of how close you can usually get to the fuming
calderas. The trip starts with a cable-car ride up to 2,500 metres, from where 4x4 jeep buses carry
travellers higher on guided tours of the lunar-like landscape and smoking volcano craters. Tours are
available from Rifugio Sapienza in Catania.
Sicily has more than its fair share of historic ruins and many of the best are not far from the Villa.
Some of Sicily’s finest ruins can be found at the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento on the
southwest coast — a UNESCO World Heritage site with one of the world’s best-preserved Greek
temples. The list of wonders that are waiting for you is too long to be written here.
