Welcome to Liberty Pines!

Liberty Pines is a spacious 5-bedroom, 4-bath lakefront log cabin located within 10 minutes of downtown Moneta, 15 minutes from Bridgewater Plaza and 45 minutes from both Roanoke and Lynchburg. Nestled on a quiet waterfront cove and surrounded by 32 scenic acres, Liberty Pines is a rare private jewel at Smith Mountain Lake!

The great room has three power recline couches, TV & wood burning fireplace (available October-April). Spacious, well-equipped kitchen with a table that seats eight; mud room; and laundry room. Kitchen offers most every small appliance that you can think of! Formal living room, equipped with a TV and pull-out sofa bed. Great room offers direct access to the covered porch with ample outdoor furniture overlooks the peaceful estate and access to the swim-spa, which seats 8.

All bedrooms & bathrooms are located on the main level -
The stunning Liberty Suite boasts a king-size bed, wet bar, mini frig/microwave, sitting area, dressing room with a desk, and a master bath with a jacuzzi tub and double shower.

The Freedom Room also has a king bed and private bath with tub/shower combo.

The Independence Room has a queen bed and private bath with tub/shower combo.

The Bear’s Den is set up for children with books, toys, and a full over full bunk bed with a pull-out full trundle bed.

The Cardinal Room has a queen bed.

The lower level is perfect for a game of ping pong, pool, karaoke, video games, board games or simply relaxing. The kids will love this area!

6 TVs w/Direct TV service.  The TV in the entry room is not connected to DirecTV, but it’s a SmartTv and is connected to a DVD player. Lots of kid's DVDs. The TV in the basement has two gaming systems connected.

Gravel path to the water is approx 650', but gently sloped, making it a very easy walk - or you may use the gravel path to drive. Outdoor furniture located by the shoreline and includes a gas fire pit. Walk-in water! Hiking trails throughout the property.

Stationary dock with lights and electricity available for boat tie-up. Paddleboat, 2 kayak/stand up paddle boards and picnic table for guests’ use.

Owner resides on the property in a separate home that is located closer to the roadside of the property.

Fantastic lake house
We had a wonderful stay at Liberty Pines. The house is expansive, with more than enough room for our group to spread out. The partially finished basement was lots of fun in the evenings, with pool and ping pong. It didn’t bother us, but the sound from the basement does carry extremely well up to the bedrooms above. The kitchen was well equipped and the house was sparkling clean. Only cons were terrible cell service, but we were warned about that. A wifi booster should definitely be added to this house. We also would have enjoyed having some floats available to use, and I was a little surprised there weren’t any. The water is deep off the dock but fairly still since it’s on a little inlet, so not quite as sparkling and clear as other locations we have stayed on the lake. We would be glad to return to this house!

House was well appointed and beds as described. We had plenty of room to spread out, enjoy each other and the lake. The kitchen had extensive stock of appliances and dishware. The lake is a short walk from the house. Folks with ltd mobility might want a different location or a golf cart. We did have a problem with the dishwasher throughout our stay. The property manager attempted to rectify but unfortunately we were without the dishwasher for the entirety of the week. With a house full of folks, it was an unexpected glitch. The homeowner helped us to work with property manager to resolve.

Fantastic Lake Experience
Liberty Pines is an outstanding place to stay with a family on Smith Mountain Lake. LE Hurlbut, the property owner, is superb! RSI Rentals was very easy to work with, professional and responsive. The house has all you need and is very comfortable and welcoming. It is conveniently located about a 7-8 minute drive to the grocery store. Located on 32 acres gave us privacy and plenty of room to have fun. It is located at the end of an arm of the lake which means swimming from the dock was easy with no concern of boat traffic…especially with younger children. Our family had a fantastic week and a big part of that was staying at Liberty Pines.

Great house for all ages
Great house overall. We’ve stayed at a number of places and Liberty Pines was the nicest yet. The kitchen was very well equipped. Each bedroom was roomy, clean, and well appointed. Plenty of seating areas both inside and out. Pool table, ping pong, Wii, Xbox, Pictionary white board, frisbee golf, corn hole, kayak, peddle boat, fishing from the dock, s’more’s at the fire pit, table games, books, movies, …swim spa. Lots of towels and toiletries, close to food shopping, wineries, boat rentals. Friendly host. My family had a great time and hopes to return.

A wonderful, well-outfitted getaway
The property was even more beautiful than advertised. They decorated for Christmas, which was a lovely surprise! We had an amazing time cooking big family meals with the most well-stocked kitchen we have ever had on a vacation! We enjoyed walks around the property, movies and bonfires every night, and spent time in the enormous, fabulous hot tub. We loved Liberty Pines.

Amazing group getaway
We resumed our Friendsgivong tradition this year and I'm so glad we chose this cabin! The house is beautiful but rustic, very clean, and the beds were comfortable. The only challenge was figuring out the thermostat, but once we did the temperature was fine. The property is beautiful as well, even in late November. The hot tub was wonderful, and for the kids too young to use it there is a large jetted tub inside. This was absolutely perfect for our group, very kid friendly. Thank you!

Chose this place as a centralized place to meet family from PA, GA, and Virginia Beach. The place was enormous! Much bigger than it looks in pictures. Everything we needed was there, from toiletries to picnic supplies. Really enjoyed the giant hot tub, the paddle boats, the firepit and the Alexa for some tunes during our stay.

Amazing Cabin and Great location!!
It was an amazing property and in an excellent location. The property was very big and had lot of space in the front and backyards. It was perfect cabin for our friends and families for the weekend. Hot tub was so big and awesome, we all had a great time in the Hot Tub. We spent good time near the fire pit as well. Overall, we all enjoyed the stay at Liberty Pines and would definitely come back to stay again. Couple of things to be noticed are, We had few challenges with WiFi connectivity and the Fire on the Grill was very low on first day, thought was out of propane and change the propane but still was the same. Surprisingly next day it was working fine.

The House was much nicer than it was depicted in the pictures! I didn't really understand how many bedrooms there were and how nice the patio was. The hot tub was also large. We also enjoyed the seclusion of the house, despite the fact it was close to the grocery store, etc. My only complaint is that the basement was unusable because of the mold smell. They also use way to much chlorine in the hot tub which caused people's eyes to burn.

Liberty Pines fit our family needs. The house was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen we have ever been to. There were loads of towels and the beds were very comfortable after a long day on the water. The basement was a big hit with the older kids and adults. Hot tub was incredible. Can't say enough about this property. We had a lot of family come and stay at other homes in area but Liberty Pines was the general gathering place and it just worked out beautifully. Would definately recommend.
