Great place if you want a quiet time. The staff is friendly and there is a bar adjoined to the rooms that is convenient for a snack, dinner or simply to have a good time.

Calling this a hotel was deceiving. Hôtel du Chasseur is set up like a hostle and not a hotel. The rooms are tiny with shared bathrooms. The furniture is old and cheap. The bathrooms should have places to put your clothing while you shower.
I would have been happier if they called themselves a hostle or inn.
This was different for me. Eight small rooms along a hallway above a bar. Room had a sink, but toilet and shower were shared. But it had a fair degree of charm, perhaps because of its unusual elements.
Tiny room. Place feels like you grandma's home, or what I imagine a hostel is like. Quaint, but hiusekeeping is sub-standard. Bathrooms are shared. Has a coffe maker in the shared kitchen but no stir sticks. No dishes no sink in sharef kitchen. Broken mirror in one of the shared bathrooms. People can see you while on the toilet due to insufficient blinds. Not renovated substancially in forever. Rooms / walls are not sound proof. No one on site for much of evening, night and morning if you need something. No place to put clothes. Towels put on chair in corner of room behind door. Stairs not shoveled after snowfall. Room over bar so music is noisy from early until late. Had some messy and loud guests stay at the same time as me so it makes for an altogether unpleasant stay. Far from civilization (ev chargers), if that is what you are looking for. Seems like a cheap place to stay overnight while on a snowmobile /quad / hunting trip, but nothing more.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
I booked this place not knowing it was at least an hour and a half away from Montreal. I was not happy i did that. The best part was the fun we had at the bar downstairs. If you want a hunting lodge, this fits. Bath and shower are down the hall.

Disliked: Amenities
the place was okay, but i think the staff should be a little more organized when accommodating rooms to people, considering we had 2 people walk in on us sleeping at 2am, and then a staff member bang on the door and told us we weren’t supposed to be there. i get accidents happen. but the gentleman could’ve been nicer about the situation.
Even if the rooms are small, the well equipped common areas and cleanliness make up for it. Furthermore, the service offered by the staff is outstanding. No five stars here if you abide by the industries standards, but well ahead of them if noted on a toe to toe basis. Thanks to Carole for her generous welcome.
The only thing that I would caution potential clients about is room access. The rooms are located on the second floor and are accessed by climbing a steep metal staircase. I'm in my mid sixties and I am still fairly agile, but I still found the stairs somewhat intimidating. So, older adults and people with mobility issues could have issues with this situation. I only say this so people are properly informed.
The creek in the back was nice but I am afraid of heights and OLD, so the outside steps were hard. I also did not like that I had to share a bathroom. But the bedroom was clean as well as the bathroom and even though there was a bar downstairs, I didn't hear them. The food from the restaurant was very good and plentiful and staff friendly and bilingual.
