The room got the job done. Definitely met the BARE minimum for a room. Floor was not swept. No coffee maker in room. All lights were LED (SUPER BRIGHT WHITE). Light switch to bathroom was on the outside of the bathroom. Minimal walking around room in the room. Water took FOREVER to warm up. We had people outside of our room at the “patio area” chatting until about 10pm. After a long day at the aquarium and as a mom with 4 year old kiddos who have a bedtime this was not ideal. Highlights: The mattress and the toilet paper. Wouldn’t book again; I’ll spend the extra money for a “nicer” room.

Great stay in clean comfortable budget motel. Some of the furniture had seen better days, but beds were good and room was clean. Price was good. Would definitely stay again for quick trips.

Pros are good location good customer service and good price. Cons are horrible bed that was sinking, loose toilet that wobbled,cheap towels,cheap soap, and the shower pressure was not great. All in all budget friendly but I would probably not book this place again.

The room was clean. Quiet area. location was good, mall nearby, Thia restaurant next door. Not to do far from downtown area great if you have a vehicle. parking was tight that only down fall. other than that, I recommended the stay.

Surf’s Up in Monterey
My first time staying at The Monterey Surf Inn and it was a Good Stay. Room was nice & bed was very comfortable. No towel racks in the bathroom which was annoying & no rubber mat in shower as I almost slipped twice. Motel had a great location. Also parking lot was littered with trash & cigarette butts which should be cleaned on a daily basis. But I’ll definitely be back.
