I very much like the location of this hotel. Right on the main drag, close to everything. Parking is sufficient, though not on site. The room and property were very clean/tidy, and in the vein of a traditional Carmel offering. The proximity to the beach is as good as it gets. The amenities in the room are a sticking point. It does have, to its credit, a coffee maker and fridge, as well as a TV with many channels. The pillows were perfect. Downsides are few but worth mentioning. There are few outlets, and fewer in logical locations. The mattress was due for replacement. And the shower cannot be turned on without getting sprayed with cold water first. Overall, all livable. I’ve stayed in much worse spots, including in Carmel. Very good budget-friendly option worth consideration.

Overall, it was ok, however, the walls were very thin so you could easily hear your neighbors. The bed was comfortable and a nice size. Unfortunately, the coffee maker in the room was broken. It was ok for an overnight stay but wouldn't want to stay longer than a couple of days. The area around the Inn was great for dining, shopping and the beach.. so, great location.

Highly recommended. As charming as the Normandy Inn is, it hits all the high points for what a traveler wants and needs in their lodging. The room was cozy and very comfortable (including our bed), and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly.

We never left our i on asking spot in Hotel as parking is hard outside. Everything is walkable from Normandy Inn. We have stayed at this Hotel many times, it's absolutely adorable. The Continental Breakfast was the best I have had and the set up is a perfect breakfast room, or you can take to room. I wished we had stayed longer but will return again.

They state in their pictures that the rooms were all European styled. Our room was very plain. Not one picture on the walls. Nothing special at all. Breakfast was ok but the ladies who run the show watch over everyone like a hawk. Very annoying. The location was nice and the beds were comfortable. But overpriced in my opinion.

Hotel was very nice but didn’t give 5 stars because check in is at 3 and we got there at 3:45 and the employee just kept saying you’ll have to come back after 3 because your room isn’t ready. When I questioned the time another employee said it’s because I booked last minute. Weird. Also don’t expect breakfast- it basically yogurt bananas or tiny muffins. Besides those two things the room was really nice, comfy beds and very clean. The hotel is in a great location to walk town. Also the am employees were very nice.

Quaint yet expensive
Our stay was great. We love Carmel. The room was good, it was clean. The woman at check-in was lovely. Overall, it was really expensive at $500 for one night. It wasn't worth that amount of money. The 'breakfast' is not great, pre packaged hard boiled eggs... some whole fruit, cheap pastries. I've walked by this hotel for years, and have always thought it looked quaint. It is. It was quite, which I was concerned about because our cabin was on the main street. But it was okay at night.
