Usually I'm happy with 2 star motels, and I would have been with Pacific Best Inn also, except that the manager barely speaks English and failed to tell us during our 3 day stay that the parking lot was being paved on our last day, and that we'd need to move our car. We had already entered the aquarium when he called. When confronted he tells me it was my fault for leaving my car in the parking lot, where I expect to be able to leave my car. I had to leave my family and I wasted parking garage fees to help him out, and wasn't offered any sort of apology or recompense.
Additionally we received no housekeeping except for the first day, but no coffee refills (which was awful anyway), no clean towels, no beds made, no cleaning or vacuuming, very poor. I certainly didn't leave the housekeeper a tip, she did nothing to warrant it.
I don't expect much for lower rent motels but some service and at least communication would be nice.
Overall the rooms were fine, somewhat recently upgraded, no complaint there. But the service and attitude of the manager was not acceptable.
I certainly won't be staying here again.
