We loved the daily 4:30 pm wine, cheese and crackers with delicious olives. Loved breakfast in the room daily, croissants, fresh fruit, cereal, hard boiled eggs and yogurt. Hotel needs some simple updating, caulking in bathroom, shelving for a microwave above mini fridge needed. Loved the sitting bench at the Bay window, watching seals, otters and even saw dolphins right from or room. Thank you we will visit again after some updating

Great hotel
Spent 2 days here and got the room with the ocean view. The staff was really nice and helpful. This hotel is also about a 5 min walk to the aquarium which is where I spent one of my days.

My stay at the Spindrift was sub par. The bathroom in my room was so outdated. The bathroom most definitely needed to be updated. The deluxe room with a king bed was very small. The bed was comfortable.I had a guest arrive in the lobby and she had asked to use the restroom and was given a hard time about that request. Needless to say it would not be my first choice when staying in Monterey.

Property is beautiful and in a great location. Unfortunately our room had a leaky sink in the bathroom which caused the floors to be wet and we had to have towels on the floor. Thankfully we just stayed one night.

Overall the hotel was exactly as advertised. Amazing view on the ocean,walking distance to everything including the aquarium which was fun. Only thing I didn’t understand was the billing I’m used to hotels putting a refundable deposit on your card not sure why theirs was $1000, seems odd…..

Getaway
We had a bay-view room, and the view was amazing. The waves were crashing right below us. I would not stay here without a bay-view room. The hotel is centrally located in Cannery Row. There is a minimal continental breakfast, but it is only served in your room (read tip). There is no dining room. There are no ice machines but they will bring it to your room (read tip). There is no parking lot, only valet (read tip). The front desk was always friendly and they did have wine and cheese hour. A pet peeve of mine with all hotels; why are the beds so high? It does not mean comfort. The room was very spacious, but needed a larger table for breakfast.

Huge Fail
Where do I start... I booked this hotel room for our honeymoon. I had called ahead of our arrival to ask for an ocean facing room. Upon arrival we were told sorry, you booked through a third party. Our room facing the street was very loud at night, the bar across the street was heavy with partying people into the bar hour. The rates were high but we figured based on the photos that it was going to be a romantic and beautiful stay. Imagine our surprise when the room lacked from what the photos depicted... The room was very very small... The shower was horrible, zero water pressure. Bathroom was dated and filled with rusted fixtures in the shower. The decor was super dated. No amenities, no ice, no vending machines to even grab a water The front desk staff acted as if we were bothering them, rude and not welcoming at all. The fireplace in the lobby when not lit filled the lobby and hallways with a very off putting smell of smoke, when I mentioned it to the lady at the front desk she didn't seemed interested at all. It was so heavy in the air, I asked if she was sure something wasn't still lit. Best part of this stay... the valet boys were all darling and very helpful Worst part..$1250.00 for three nights. Super disappointed.

Everything about Spindrift Inn was fantastic. Great staff, great room, great location. My only complaint is the breakfast. For a 4 star hotel the breakfast was a disappointment, it wasn’t any better than a continental breakfast at most 2 and 3 star hotels. Aside from that I was very happy with my stay here.

This quaint hotel has lots of character! It’s an older building but well maintained. The staff was very friendly, and the afternoon wine and cheese reception was a nice touch and much appreciated after a long travel day. We arrived early, and they were happy to store our luggage until our room was ready so we could do some shopping in town. They also stored our luggage after checkout the next day so we could visit the Aquarium . We loved that it was centrally located on Cannery Row. Lots of shops and restaurants in the immediate area with in walking distance. We were beachfront, and I highly recommend requesting a beach view room. The windows opened to hear the ocean waves, and they provided binoculars for wildlife viewing which was amazing! We saw sea lions playing and whales in the ocean. This was the highlight of our stay! Our room was cozy with a fireplace, and decorated beautifully. They provided a complimentary continental breakfast brought to our room at our requested time. I would have liked a few more options for breakfast like muffins or bagels. And parking is valet only which was not ideal. But, All in all, it was a wonderful stay!
