Great stay
I think Motels get a bad rap for being seedy places for questionable activity. Although there may be motels that are this way, many motels offer clean rooms at reasonable prices that are perfect for someone who wants a nice room when they’re just passing through town. The Aura Inn was one such place. I only stayed one night there while attending a conference and it was perfect for my needs. My front desk experience was very positive and the attendant even gave us a great recommendation for a local restaurant for dinner. The room was very clean, minimal but nicely decorated, and conveniently located to my conference venue. It’s across the street from a nice shopping center that has a range of eateries. If you don’t need a super fancy room for your stay, or if you’re enjoying the Monterey area and just need a good clean room and bed while you’re asleep, this is the place. If my travels bring me back this way, I’d definitely stay here again.

Clean on first day but…
So the initial day was great. Everything was clean and all the amenities appeared in good working order, until we got a closer look and stayed a couple days after. Our secondary and third days though: beds were not made even though we clearly requested it. They never replenished the coffee and creamer, shower and toilets were not cleaned, but we did receive clean towels at least. The anchor point on one end of the shower was becoming loose. There were hairs on the walls that were not our own. Shower water pressure was very poor: low water pressure or too high of a shower head restriction. Parking was ok but very tight (good luck not trying to ding someone else’s car)!
Gave us amenities after we begged for it day prior on 2nd day.
Toilet not clean on 2nd day.
Shower not cleaned after initial day.
Beds not made post the initial day.

It is a clean and very spartan motel. There are few conveniences. The rooms face a busy road and the heating/AC unit worked but the fan noise was way too high and didn't respond to the controls for lower fan speed. All in all a very simple and not terribly comfortable place if you spend much time in the room. It's fine for sleeping and leaving.

Nice place to spend the night. Pictures are accurate, rooms are recently renovated. The things that could have been better are the floor needed to be mopped and we booked a family suite which consisted of 2 beds, a desk and 2 office chairs. This was fine considering we just used the room to sleep, but there are no couches or chairs to sit and lounge on. A mini fridge, microwave and keurig were available which was nice. Overall, it was on the less pricey side and was a nice place to stay given the price point.

Clean rooms and friendly staff. Only downside was the signal is awful in that area, even though WiFi is available. Bad signal has nothing to do with the business, though! Just a warning for those who need to make frequent phone calls/video meetings - be sure to bring some type of WiFi extender or something to help facilitate signal.

We’ve stayed at this property a few times and it never disappoints. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean, & quiet. Bathrooms have soap & shampoo dispensers making things very convenient. Mike is friendly and helpful and made check in & check out a quick and pleasant experience. I recommend this property to anyone coming to Monterey.
