Comfortable, spacious and quiet room. The hotel is on a side street off of a very attractive plaza called Place Victor Hugo. This is an older building and it shows to some degree, but was very clean and the breakfast room was particularly nicely decorated. Staff was accommodating and helpful. The parking garage under the plaza is very new and has extra-wide parking spaces. The area is very walkable and picturesque, with pleasure boats lining the canals.
If you're a fan of the TV series Candice Renoir, you'll find the building that was used as the set for the police station only a couple of blocks away.

Old and tired, poorly decorated hotel, not many art deco features! Grumpy staff that were not very friendly to our dog! It was clean enough but the towels need to be renewed soon, the AC worked very well and the location was close enough to the livelier part of the town, parking outside was convenient! We wouldn’t stay again!
After traveling for 48 hrs with no sleep, we reserved for the wrong night, immediately realized our mistake, and within 5 minutes arrived at the hotel and explained our situation. one of gentlemen at this hotel was kind and even helped us book a room elsewhere and encouraged us to request a refund from Hotels.com, which we did. When they called the hotel, they got another person who was present when we arrived who thought he could hold us to the not needed reservation and double book the room. As an executive in the travel industry, we would never in a million years recommend this place. We took the room so it couldn’t be booked and it was shabby with no furniture and a predatory manager to boot.
The hotel is old but clean and well equipped. It’s located in a good quartier, not far from centre ville. The staff is helpful. It has no onsite parking but free parking is not too far; the public parking is crowded but usable if one is patient.

Budget hotel
Budget style hotel & room. Service was friendly enough but the breakfast so limited - even for French standards!

hôtel tres calme bien situé sans parking un peu cher.
personnel accueillant.
pas trop de choix au petit dejeuner.
The hotel was fine but we rated it low because the first night of our stay we could not reach the hotel by its 9pm closing time and had to find alternative accommodation. Travelling from Calais to Sete we expected to arrive close to 9pm but when we recognised this would not happen I contacted the hotel. They stipulated the 9pm closing time and offered no alternative. The second night was fine and the service very good.
Nice, clean quiet and spacious.
In comparison tho other French hotels, the room was HUGE.
It was decorated in a very low-key but nice manner.
I only with there was a coffee maker or a small fridge but that would bring it to a higher category, I guess.

Property is dated as are the sheets, furniture, etc. I killed at least six mosquitoes that kept buzzing around me all night. They seem to be aware of the problem the. I brought it to their attention because they said not to use the AC/heating unit as this is how they get in. This seems like an easy fix, to put a filter or screen on the intake. I won’t atay again.
The hotel is in a good location only a short walk from the train station and a slightly longer walk to the center of Sète. There are a couple of good restaurants just a few meters away and more in the center. Good air conditioning in quiet rooms and a nice breakfast.
Hôtel Le National is an easy walk to and from the train station centrally located on Sète. I liked that it was just off a little street but still close to the business of a larger one. Also very convenient to walk into the old original part of town for delicious restaurants and gelato artisans as well as shopping! I was also inclined to walk to the top of Mount St Clair - not for the faint of heart - you can drive - breathtaking views.
