Set on the outskirts of a beautiful medieval village and attached to the end of our long farmhouse is our cosy gite with a wood burning stove. Downstairs you'll find a large spacious living room and kitchen, boasting beautiful flagstone floors, exposed wooden beams and an enticing winding stone staircase that leads to the first floor bedroom.
Upstairs is a large bedroom with a queen size bed and two single beds. There is a cosy ensuite bathroom under the eaves, with a shower.
I offer home cooked evening meals. My speciality is plant based food, and with one day's notice, evening meals can be prepared and delivered to you.
The gite is quiet with double glazed windows and there is a small front garden for you to sit out during warmer months. Rural life is animated with tractors passing.. We love this but please bear it in mind if you are looking for total peace and quiet!!
We are a family of five and there's lots of life in the house so it's possible you might hear us from time to time even thought the gite is fully insulated!
I accept animals and have a cat and a dog of my own, however i do have house rules regarding pets; Animals should not be left alone in the house whilst guests are out. Animals are not allowed on ANY furniture including beds and sofas- please bring their own bed. The garden must be left clean on departure and any damage to the house caused by animals will be charged for.
The area is packed with things to do and visit; Chablis for some wine tasting, Beaune or Dijon for city culture or shopping, the Morvan Natural Park with lakes, beaches, water sports and plenty of walks, sightseeing in Vezelay, the canal of Bourgogne, Gastronomic restaurants like Bernard Loiseau in Saulieu, and locals towns; Avallon with it's market twice a week, Auxerre, Semur en Auxois, Noyers sur Serein. And if you dont' want to travel too much, the surrounding area of Montréal has many lovely walks and the countryside is beautiful. Montréal itself has a bar and restaurant serving lunchtime meals, a post office, a small grocery store and exhibition room, and a nocturnal market every wednesday from April to October.
